Am I missing something or are the wyverns garbage? They can only use bite as far as I can tell

If your fail/bug the quest "Wrangling a Wild Wyvern", you can safely abandoned it and do it again, no problem. I had to do this due some Alliance killed me lol

Make sure you wait until Jixo is standing beside the hut to speak to him. If he is out taming a Wyvern already and you speak to him while he is stunned, you will turn in the quest, lose your quest items, and be unable to proceed.

How to learn Comando para Matar:

1. Obtain Varinha Mágica Maior
Craft from Encantamento or buy on Auction House
2. Obtain Cristal Hipnótico
Drop from the final boss of Caverna Ululante - Mutanus, o Devorador
3. Obtain Essência de Magia Selvagem
Drop from Furbolgs in Ashenvale:
Xamã Torpeflora
Totêmico Torpeflora
Xamã Pelocardo
Totêmico Pelocardo
4. Use Essência de Magia Selvagem to combine it with Varinha Mágica Maior and obtain Varinha Nodosa de Magia Selvagem
5. Travel to Stonetalon Mountains at 59.3 X , 62.4 Y
6. Speak to Jixo Furioguete:
Complete the quest Laçando mantícoras selvagens by turning gathered items
Immediately start the next quest
7. Follow Jixo Furioguete as he performs a Wyvern tame and rides it around
8. Turn in the completed & learn Runa de Comando para Matar
You will also receive Varinha de Domar Mantícora that will allow you to tame Asaltiva Jovem as a hunter pet.

If you see Jixo Furioguete standing in the forest
it means someone just completed the quest.
Before you start your quest, wait for him
to respawn next to the house at 59.3 X , 62.4 Y

If you started while he's in the forest,
Jixo Furioguete will despawn and won't complete your quest.
If that happens simply abandon and start it again when he respawns.

What most hunters dont know is...
U dont need to be 25 lv to get Kill Kommand rune it is not lv gated as many think it is, I get it on 19 lv.
Doing wc without this quest or starter chain rune q last boss murlock will still drop Hypnotic Crystal
U can kill Furbolgs 24 lv as 19 but need to be careful how to pull and pet needs to have at least some ability as cleave and pet talents for health and armor in your bm tree.
It is slow but manageable. When I got Wild Magic Essence I already had in bag enchanting wand and other crystal and combined everything. Went to goblin and finish both q in 4 sec lol

How to Acquire Hunter Rune of Kill Command & Wyvern Taming Wand

1. Speak with Jixo Madrocket in Stonetalon Mountains. He hangs out next to the Goblin house near the South-Western entrance to Windshear Crag.
2. Pick up quest Wild Wyvern Wrangling.
3. Get 3 items:
a) Hypnotic Crystal - drops off of Mutanus the Devourer (white murloc boss at end of Wailing Caverns dungeon)
b) Purchase a Greater Magic Wand from the Auction House.
c) Wild Magic Essence drops off of Thistlefur Shaman & Totemic or Foulweald Shaman & Totemic (furlbogs) in Ashenvale.
4. Combine Wild Magic Essence & Greater Magic Wand to create Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic
5. Turn in Gnarled Wand of Wild Magic and Hypnotic Crystal to Jixo Madrocket. (make sure he is standing next to the house when you turn it in, or he can glitch out and you may lose the items)
6. Pick up new quest Wrangling a Wild Wyvern
7. Watch Jixo wander off a short distance to tame a wyvern.
8. Turn in quest and acquire Rune of Kill Command & Wyvern Taming Wand.
9. Tame a Young Pridewing wyvern in the nearby area.
10. Enjoy life.
