"Holy Priest is one of the best healers to introduce to players new to the game or healing" Why though? They have the largest number of buttons for a healer and quite a few traps they can fall into. I think holy pally or resto shaman are probably easier to learn.
if you're as good as Automatic Jak feel free to go holy. If you're not, you're handcuffing whatever group you join by not going disc
So I knew Harmonious Apparatus would be really good and probably the go to option for any scenario, its just good everywhere. However how is divine image going? I thought that maybe could have found some use in raids, but its not even mentioned. is it really that bad? I mean, is it because the proc rate, the healing it does...good article :) I like to read that dungeons will feature more party damage tbh, most of the times in high bfa keys you are just spamming flash heals, because its high damage to 1-2 targets that other spells are not worth using xD so definitely this will feel good for holy priestsI really love this spec and I think its class design is great and hoping we can get to enjoy it in shadowlands m+ dungeons
On beta I had a ton more fun in dungeons as holy priest than I did in BFA. I don't know if that's because of the AOE damage or just because the dungeons have a better design but I'm looking forward to it.Harmonious Apparatus recipe is from the final boss in the raid. The only other legendary I'm considering is Xanshi. When I tested it Divine Image seemed too random and had a low price rate but it might be changed since then.
I am not sold on Focused Mending as it only increases PoM's total healing by like 18% at the max rank which isn't even attainable right now, and we will be looking at most at a 10% increase first tier. While with Emeri the option to exchange one potency conduit for a throughput trait doesn't really exist(or well haste% on defeating opponents is not really applicable) I am personally looking at both Theotar and Nadija for their respective final choice increases being potentially more interesting than the currently low rank conduits. Also want to see for myself during leveling how much of an impact the travel time on the Necrolord ability makes, I am just not keen on an impactful heal having a chance to be dodged. Even if Venthyr throughput seems worse, as long as a targetable enemy who is dealing damage exists(and you usually need healing when you are being damaged :P) it will work, meanwhile I already see a few bosses where I will lose out on people hitting the boss or not even hit the boss with it as well as those who need healing and are taking damage not currently damaging the boss. Honestly Emeri's first trait turning it into a throughput CD seems more important that what the ability itself does, and is the main reason I am even considering it vs a proc based Mastery buff.
Does Jak even play holy? I've never seen him touch it on stream
I don't ever catch Jak playing Holy anymore. I saw a video where he said he had fun with it in dungeons so I guess I just miss it.I know one thing is for sure. No way am I going necrolord. I wonder what the overlap is between people who like the plague aesthetic and holy priest diehards?
Here is the thing that people need to understand and we need the help of streamers , too , that whenever this subject is brought up to tell them that most content is doable with their favorite spec. However , on the very top where competition is "fierce" and you need every advantage you can get and make the best out of it "meta" does exist for a reason. They are classes that can play around and within those tactics for fast clearing , skips and other tactics. People need to understand this because in an expansion or two this will become a bigger problem. So , I repeat , as someone that played Warlock when it was very strong (Affliction , Legion) and when Warlocks werent the worst but 2nd to worst. You can do alot of the content. You have alot of streamers that played "non-meta" classes that pushed keys to 20s and way above. It can be done , however , what the non-meta classes cant do is compete with the "meta" at speed clearing the dungeons but it can be done in time.I dont know how better to put it so I will say this. You can push as high as the meta classes and unless you want to win some competition finishing the key in time is enough. You can finish a 20+ if you play good enough with your favorite class.I forgot the name of the streamer that played Discipline Priest with Andybrew and did 26s and 27s when they were really unpopular and people that were doing 15s or 16s and lower were dodging them when they were not bad. There are some very good players that stream and demonstrate that you can play your favorite class and spec and get very high.Tl;dr: Unless you plan to get into a competition where how fast you can clear the objective you can do it if you are skilled enough with whatever class and spec.
