I hate leveling, with a passion. So if I decide to level any other characters it'll be done solely through MoP or Legion zones and only done to earn heritage armor for allied races. I didn't enjoy the WoD zones or aesthetic, like at all, and BFA is still too fresh (I leveled 9 of my 13 max level toons in the last 2 months from 110 - 120) and it's going to be a very long time before I want to do any quests there again. I already do everything I can to avoid doing any questing or content in BC and I did so much content in WotLK that I need a good long break from those zones, and while the Cata zones are enjoyable, it just takes too long (same for BC & WotLK), why would I spend up to twice as much time as actually needed to level? IMO, Blizzard should try to balance out the leveling time for each of the expansions used in Chromie time to ensure that regardless of which xpac you choose it'll take approximately the same time, just so long as their balancing is to speed up the BC, WotLK & Cata zones and not a nerf the faster zones to slow down.
It was a matter of time to see TBC and Lich would become the worst expansion to level, their systems of quest and dg were left behind in comparison to the ones of pandaria and from that point.
I'm planning on doing Legion so I can finally get the rest of the Order Hall mounts. Only 4 more to go.
Pandaria all the way for me
If I could start leveling in Terrokar, move to Nagrand and finish in Blade's Edge, I'd take a trip back and do BC again. But I hate HFP and Zangarmarsh, and SMV is way too dreary for me. The storyline for LK is great, but again, if I could skip HF and BT, start in Dragonblight, then do Storm Peaks and Icecrown, it would be cool. I have 8 120's and a boost available, It 'll be a minute before I even think about leveling again.
If Blizzard really wanted to improve the leveling experience AND allow us to experience the story of an expansion, rebuild the key storylines of each zone and provide some fast travel between points of the story. Maybe next expansion.
Now that they've fixed being able to level-lock while in Chromie Time, I look forward to actually experiencing all of these expacs. I'll be taking things slowly, and locking at 49 so as to be able to complete every non-raid thing the expansions have to offer on various characters.
I would love to see WotLK and BC leveling get buffed to make them more comparable to the shorter times in WoD/Legion
The article is interesting in terms of leveling speed, but I would have liked other aspects mentioned, as well. For example...- Story: I found the storylines very engaging and immersive in Pandaria and Legion, not so much in BfA, for some reason.- Atmosphere, especially visuals and music: most awesome in Pandaria and Cata (Vashj'ir, seriously, one should have played it at at least once - turn on the music!). But the art team almost always does a great job, there's great zones in every expansion (Shadowmoon valley in Draenor, Dragon Wastes in Northrend, Val'sharah, and, well, all of Pandaria). Also, Suramar. But I'm not sure if you get to play Suramar in Legion Chromie time...?For people who enjoy leveling alts, maybe most importantly:- Replayability! Legion = Replayability x12! Enjoy collecting your artifacts on every class, do your different class hall campaigns on all classes, I had so much fun back then doing this. Also: class mount quest! (If you complete the class hall quest and do the Broken shore campaign.) How could the article not mention all of this? (I know... it's about speed....)- Replayability x2: BfA. While I didn't enjoy BfA half as much as most other expansions, I'd say it's worth to play it twice: on Horde and Alliance side. It's practically totally different content. I liked the Zandalar questlines more though.- Other expansions have a bit less replayability, I guess, though there's some different Horde / Alliance hubs and quests in most expansions. Thus, my priority would be Legion (12 times) and BfA (2 times), but I've already done that. My future leveling fun will probably mostly take place in Pandaria or Legion, because I loved those expansions most. I might visit Cata again at some point, because it's been a while. On Alliance side, maybe Draenor, because of Shadowmoon Valley and the garrison.
would be nice if chromie time buff was also able on lv 50 (anytime you want) or just make all expansions 10-50 (it is already scaled so why downgrade?). this way revisiting/completing older content feels more meaningful
I'm quite envious of the people leveling through these. I've always enjoyed leveling as a relaxing thing while watching a series or listening to an audiobook, but even with the changes in BfA, you would often take the same route and leave expansions half way through when it started to get good (I'm looking at you, WoTLK, MoP and WoD). I've got one of every class on each faction and have no real reason to level, which is a shame now that you get to do the entirety of the expansions without feeling like you're wasting time :)
Legion all the way!
