Some of you people really need to get your heads out your rears, not everything has to be doom and gloom and serious all the damn time, lighten up.
RemovedBut I'm personally torn, at one side it's funny and cute but on the other it feels like they're pushing this meme too long.
So dumb
wowhead must change your name to ZapWowhead :D
ZAPPY BOI IN, boomers out.
I just want to point out that after the last week poor ol' Will Smith is having, they put a meme of him on this post. Too soon or tipping the hat?
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I was feeling a bit antsy about it when I heard this news but Bwonsamdi saying it is completely on brand and is probably the only way they could get away with canonising it without being cringey.Well played!
while I can appreciate humor, this isn't it. I was never a fan of the meme because I wanted to get to know the character, but before, during and after his inception he's been comedyfied and so it's getting farther and further from being able to take him seriously - and it's not his fault it's everyone else's. all those telling peeps to chill it's only fun, well some of us know that but choose to desire letting the silly fan stuff stay where it was so we could embrace a character (or not) by getting to know him instead of him being known by his meme. not everyone supports incorporating outside stuff into the game and while of course it's present everywhere, it usually doesn't involve main characters. I think this line of text in the book should be the final reference otherwise he'll always have this 'extra' thing about him that prevents him from being truly likable/unlikable on his own merit. sucks to constantly have additional outside, 'extra' weight attached to his real name. I say leave him alone and let him do his thing, but don't keep using the fake name it's disrespectful and prevents actual development because he'll always have this shadow. it's also disrespectful to the players who'd like to see characters progress and evolve without baggage of the dumb meme being shackled to him. at this route he'll never be himself he'll always just be a joke. also, correct, memes are not liked by all players nor represent the fanbase. stop pretending everyone likes memes and that they all deserve to be in the game. I doubt anyone prefers his meme over his true self and if they prefer a meme instead of a character's real name and personality then they aren't part of the community.

I have to laugh at the people who are getting so butt hurt over such a small thing in a book that many WoW players probably won't even read. There are far worse things in this world to concern yourselves about than two words in a video game novel. No one is saying you have to like it, but then again, no one actually cares whether you like it or not ... it's funny when people get offended by such small, insignificant things when there are much bigger issues to worry about in this world. Just let people have some fun with something silly ... it's not hurting anyone.
From the perspective of a person that does not particularly know or understand what a 'zappy boy meme' is, this passage has no real meaning whatsoever. Just a god making fun of a mortal. The self-referential-ism towards the end of the paragraph reads a bit strangely, though. That ellipsis after the first 'did' makes it feel a bit too on the nose.
