Its a problem on live too I sold millions worth of runs to get my brutosaur and i can assure you the people who run boosting services like Starlight and Gallywix and even the smaller ones are doing RMT. I confirmed it with a lot of the officers while doing the boosts late night sometimes. Why do you think there is so much incentive for them to bring new boosters in and collect off them. Also if you all knew how much community cuts they are getting from just being a director/officer in the community you would understand why they have so much gold to sell for real money. Its a sad reality that blizzard needs to address by either completely banning it and or accept the fate of people making money off their game.

"Man, frick retail. You can pretty much just buy your gear"*goes and runs GDKP raids with botted/bought gold*
in a different mmo (i forgot which) i made a char for the first time. my brother gave me a large amount of currency (he was playing the game for a much longer time). large amount of currency for the level and first time starter. after a few minutes i got a gamemaster asking me how i got so much money. i explained my brother gave it to me. and the gm could follow the transaction. and the gm could verify we have the same family name making a proof much easier.it is just a matter of smart reporting on certain behaviour. or triggers. for example "account and character made today, is lvl 5 and got 10.000 gold in wow classic" -> alarm.scan a realm for: accounts with only chars below level 10 and too much gold. block the gold and require a proper explanation. some have storage chars for items or guild chars to store things for example.on the other side, perhaps blizzard does not want to make wow a "police state" type of game.
Bringing tokens to classic is a real possibility. It doesn't solve the problem for us, the players. But it does funnel more of this money to Blizzard instead of botters and gold farmers. And we all know that's a much more attractive solution for Blizzard than improving the game in a way that doesn't increase their profits.
Wait....so you're telling me the Chinese are ruining a video game for NA players? Get the fk out.......🤣🤣
Just get better at detecting bots, it's 2020 not 15y agoAlso NO tokens or I'll stop playing
or just nerf mages aoe? add aoe cap to that crap 6max targets to CoE,Blizz etc wont hurt endgame imo.. and will nerf a lot boosting/leveling of botters
inb4 Token comes to WoW Classic((It's technically already here. It's a 'grey area', but you can trade Retail Token for Classic Gold and vice versa. You just have to trust the person not to scam you.))Not that I'd mind. With the removal of Layering it's nearly impossible to farm the high-tier herbs or mining nodes on 'High' or 'Full' servers.
Dont buy gold and dont do GDKP groups.
Blizz did this to us in the first place by making gold too easy to make in retail, and furthered the problem by the implementation of the WoW Tokens. Those two things created such an environment as to have large portions of the community to change their view of gold and the overall in-game economy. That new mindset then carried over into Classic, and gave the RMTs all the freedom they needed to ruin some parts of the Classic experience for those of us who do not believe in participating in their GDKPs or Boosting Services.Blizzard would literally have to change the pathing, and eliminate reset points inside the dungeons in order to have any significant impact on what is happening in WoW Classic.
