I am always up for repeatable content. I put a spare couple of pounds into Slay the Spire and Binding of Isaac on Steam, and for their price, I have had my monies worth tenfold... a hundredfold. I have played them hundreds of hours each, and probably will put hundreds more into them. Anything remotely roguelike, procedurally generated/seeded, dungeoncrawly or repeatable... they get my money and my time. BfA during the pre-release hype, I was almost sure we were getting something akin to what I mentioned above, with Island Expeditions. They turned out not to be, but after a few patches, they got to a point where I felt they were in a better place, especially loot-wise. So, me enjoying bang-your-head-against-a-wall repeatable content, got a kick out of grinding Islands with my girlfriend and friend on headsets, chilling and chatting, fingers crossed we got loot. We got hyped about visions for more repeatable content... only this time you have to jump through a million hoops to get there, and when you finally do, you get thrown in for a couple of sub-60 seconds runs to show you the ropes, before telling you you're out of the required currency to continue. "OK, we'll come back tomorrow". One day of more invasions/emissaries/world quests to jump in for another tiny taste of visions? Nah, you're alright. The content just isn't fun enough for us to justify doing everything else required. If Torghast limits you via any sort of daily tickets/tokens/keys, or "you have hit your daily/weekly limit", or timegating, or any other shenanigans, its going to be a massive bummer for me and my friends personally. We're perfectly happy only receiving cosmetic rewards via side-content.
I just wanna echo what everyone else here has said to the tune of:Hey blizzard: a potentially single player mode should not punish me for stepping away for real life reasons in the middle. Multiplayer? Sure, I get that I'm on other people's time, but I shouldn't have to disclaim to my friends "about to go into torghast alone, thus I am unavailable."In short: Don't time this. Not with a clock, not with a bar. It's stressful, it's a downer, and it unnecessarily imposes on my personal time alone. Furthermore, temporary buffs that last an hour within torghast should last until you leave, because clearly you're not creating something with a timed sense of pressure that's going to last longer than an hour for a single player session. If I have to pee, if my small child has to pee, if my cat catches on fire, if my boss calls me... these should not impact me while running torghast (assuming I'm between fights). There is literally no need to hold up a stopwatch to someone on their own time in this mode.I know Blizzard doesn't read this site, but this is largely to support and validate those asking that torghast not be timed. Maybe I'll brave posting this on official forums.
For any Mobile gaming veterans out there, this tower concept is borrowed from Tower game-play in South Korean mobile games. Almost ever major South Korean mobile game has "Tower content"It will be interesting to see how Blizzard spins this type of content to make it their own; i've always enjoyed Tower content in those Korean games so let's see if they make it fun. :)
JFC, the toxic, entitled fandom represented in these comments makes me sick. Seriously, you people need to get some perspective.
if it's anything like horrific visions it will be a complete failure. Any mechanic which revolves around speed running or loss of control of your character is not fun. They can create difficult content, so I'm not sure why they took the route they did. Really sad honestly.
Vitality and the limited number of entries per week are going to kill this entire system. It's part of the reason why visions are so terrible. No one wants to grind out a currency to be able to do the big feature of the expansion, and barely anyone I know likes timed systems. If I wanted to race against I clock, I could just do M+.
No zygos is pretty much in the wrong. its pretty regressive and adds nothing to the conversation to just tell someone whos being honest, "Just quit."Retail is on its last legs rn and Torghast is really needed and one of the core pillars of Shadowlands. if it/Covenants or soulbinds fail wow will be in a dire state. blizz is in a state where they need to listen to play feedback, with visions one of the most disliked things about them is how they are tied to WQ, they are fun but they force you to do another type of content most people are sick of, and Personally I hope torghast is just content that is open at 60 and Somthing I can spend hours doing without leaving.
hope we can unlock very special things (its legendary) like gladiator stance, pvp talent, dual shielding, cool old azerite power, very old good talent from past expansion stuff you can't have usualy etc...
This looks really cool. I love the idea of the Maw Beasts. Little thing, but I love that they have names - that they're specific creatures who've chosen to come help us, rather than some disposable mob. It makes my Hunter heart happy.
I'd suspect if vitality is an actual stat, that it's primary use is likely opening chests, reaching higher floors
Of course, Vitality will likely be sanity 2.0..... without the passive drain. So screw up too much and you'll have issues
A blue post confirmed vitality is not related to Torgast. See post #41.https://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/1111277-news-shadowlands-preview-torghast-tower-of-the-damned/
Paladin specific abilities seem very limited. Not surprised Mages/Warriors etc have more fun abilities put into them.
This will be another shocking flop, because after BfA destroying Legion's success, they still have not fired Ion.
