These changes are really good for those with alts Account wide essences are not required yet, I would anticipate they would do that in the pre patch or a little before Making the requirements simpler is a far better system that still requires some work on the players part instead of it being handed to them on a platter simply cause they cried loud enough

Account wide essences when?
I understand that the people want to have account-wide essences.When I logged my alt that I was supposed to gear up for progression raids it was a bit daunting to have to redo quests to unlock zandalari zones, do M+ for the weekly, do PVP for the cap, do emissarys for rep and azerite power, do raid on normal cause nobody would invite as you are to low ilvl, then do raid on heroic and hope for loot, Unlock nazjatar, Unlock Mekagon and even squeeze in some war Battles for extra loot. Add to it that you might be a DPS and all queuetimes or competition for multiplayer experiences just tenfolded time you are going to wait to play.Thou the solution is not to give everyone essences on the toons (alts). Normally, if you just want to play a different character you would want to do something on it, so making everything accountwide would make a lot of people have less connection with their alt if all they needed to do is send over some benthic tokens via mail and thats it.What I would have like to have accountwide is the following:1. Reputation - We have paragons now, so earning reputation on my main or alt, could still count towards accountwide progress. If they want to gate reputation in new expansions they can simply program to only let us earn X rep a day/week instead of gating it behind limited amount of things to do that gives rep. Or make dailys account wide.2. Flightpaths and other unlocked gates/doors/portals. We have the cool item you can buy that teaches your alt all the flightpaths, but you still gotta do the 4 questlines to unlock the ship to take you to zandalar/kultiras and the portal to Nazjatar. The quests should still be there, just that they dont block you from traveling.3. Ingame currencies - If we are given war resources, apexi crystals, Ancient Mana, Dubloons, and all other stuff we normally tend to farm or get by default on our mains - I dont understand why we have to grind them on our alts aswell. These currencys could easily be accountwide, promoting playing different characters - even if you want to collect 100,000 apexi crystals for a mount. Otherwise I think the other aspects from getting alts from 0 to hero are as other people said so well, the reason why its an alt in the first place. You dont need 20 characters with Mythic Gear ready to take on the next raid-tier. If you wanna feel powerful then... play the game with the character?Have a lovely day!
I love when all these people are saying, you cant do account wide essence because it infringes on character identity. The issue is that blizzard designed essences not only to be a way to or up your character but to primarily fix class design issues. This means that the classes and specs will not be as fun or as rewarding until you can actually get the essences on your alts. This puts time fares in power and also the fun that you can have on your character. Primary example, vengeance demon Hunters were basically unplayable because of their lack of mitigation uptime and that they would get demolished when their mitigation falls. Now there essences helped them a ton but going them vision major which helps them immensely to become not only viable but less clunky and residually bad. Because of this it is not only in the interest of the players but also blizzard in a business perspective to retain players and bring in New players, I have blatantly told all my friends that want to play wow to not in the current expansion because the game is garbage and they will not like it. The game and their systems aren't just meant to be a purely storyboard and perfect implementation of ideals and thoughts but it needs to be marketable. wow is not marketable at this point because the port gameplay and lack of rewarding activities and the required activities that you have to do to be competitive in a game that is inherently competitive. People leave the game because they don't want to actually grind it the essences again for their alts if they need to swap characters or classes to be competitive and they also don't bring in New players like you would have seen previously from players that enjoy the game. This also prevents changes of meta comps in say arenas or in m+ as it prevents people from swapping.The but issue is, it creates a unhealthy style of game that purely caters to people that will play the games as no lifers or only play one character at a time. I for one love to try to be competitive so this puts me in a @#$%ty situation. Do I end up gearing and grind out the essences that I need to have to be competitive for a main swap? To do this I will have to do terrible solo content that isn't rewarding. I already have a job I don't want to have another job in an environment where I either don't have the time to play as much as I want to or have to sacrifice my time playing the content I want to do to actually be competitive.There is an eb and flow to actually meta changes. These changes should not be gated by stupid solo content that is directly related to the power level of your character or also just fixing design flaws that the developers didn't fix before launching bfa like I said early. Also in the current state of people not being able to dedicate the time that they once were able to. Blizzard needs to make the game as alt friendly and less grindy just to help the general population actually be interested in the game to be able to market it to their friends.
