Sounds like an awful lot of money thrown out for throw away accounts.
And this is why they should just have a choice and put everything on the Store, because people will go to extra mile or spend all that money just to get the rewards. If they put it on the shop, they would probably make even more money.
And once again, recruit a friend turns out to be mainly everything besides recruiting actual friends, just recruit-a-second-account 2.0 and wowhead promotes it ...
I feel like this i just easier to do with just getting a year long sub for another account. Less accounts that way.
Think I'd rather spend the £54 for 6mths on a 2nd account and use it (for multiboxing in old raid transmog runs... ), than basically throwing all the cash away on a dozen accounts that I wouldn't use like that :\ (and then either do that twice... for 2 raf accounts, 6mths each, or just give the raf 12mth sub). Anyone know if the half-price first month sub (from this black friday deal) counts for reviving an old account btw, or is it just for brand new accounts?
No way I going to spend that most money for that!
If you are not in a hurry, you can just use one account and pay for a years worth of time and get the items as they come each month over the next year.As someone that likes having two accounts and actually plays them both, this works just fine and I don't have to throw away money on 10 accounts that will never get used. But then, I do not need the instant gratification either, so meh.
I'm not sure how to feel when i see wowhead encouraging ppl to do this. =(
This is probably the most depressing article to post on Thanksgiving day.
This is quite a sad artickle. If we are the point where something meant to promote new blood/player in the game is used for self exploit/gains in an mmo game mind you..sad times.
I've not won the lottery yet so I guess this is another one of those pipe dreams. Kind of like the Brutosaur mount for 5 million gold.
This guide is a repost of their earlier one, and is still badly written and very confusing. Considering you can buy a 6-month sub up-front, you don't need 12 extra accounts, you just need two. Buy each a 6-month sub, and your rewards are all there. In fact, that's an even cheaper way of doing it, considering the discount you get with the 6-month sub (including the current 50% sale). People talking about a 12-month sub, I don't know if that is US-only as it doesn't seem to be an option for EU accounts.
As a bonus, if you're able to run 2 WoW clients at once, you can do a few tasks with the linked accounts for rewards, such as 2 BGs for 30 Marks of Honor per account, 2 dungeons (I think) for 200 or 300 Timewarped Badges and 30 quests for 200 or 300 Timewarped Badges per linked account. I'm not sure if Party Sync is mandatory or if you can level a fresh alt alongside the new account. But I had PS on the entire time with a level 120So each linked account can give you 500 Timewarped Badges and 30 Marks of Honor, if you have 12, then that's 6000 Badges and 360 Marks. The only real effort here is leveling a fresh alt on each account to 15 to start it all. Also I figured out the quickest way to do 30 quests is to spam this quest 30 times while party synced.
Always wanted the recruit a friend mounts but it is also the one thing i wont pay for in wow and thats coming from someone who has every store mount and has subbed for 15 years lol If they would put it in the store id buy it in a heartbeat but i wont make multiple accounts to get it.
how do I do if I already have 8 licences on my main account?
When Blizzard released the new recruit a friend method, in their original post, they did say you could also get the rewards from sending an invite link to an account that's been inactive for over 2 years. So, as there is no scroll of revival still, this new system is supposed to also count for that. You'd have to go check their main post though. The time frame for inactivity could be off.
So the total cost is $80 right now with the 50% off first month subscription, yes? Does the main account get any free months in this scheme? I assume not.You can buy six month subscriptions, does prepaying for two of those on two additional accounts count and give rewards immediately, including free months on the main account? And if so has anyone calculated the total cost of doing that?
