If you roll a tier one , is there a way to upgrade it into higher tiers ?
What the hell, so to get the "truly good" item we need to hit jackpot on THREE SEPARATE ROLLS (which stat/tier/lower end of corruption bracket)? rng on gear is getting beyond ridiculous
i dont think that information has been released but im assuming if we can lower the corruption stat we can raise the benefit stat?
This reads as worse than titanforging. Way worse.
Yo dawg I heard you like RNG....
pretty sure the teir of corruption is alos tied to the teir of the buff, you wont be looking for teir 1 corruption teir 3 stat buff...
This whole thing sounds awfully thought out. Firstly, you will be required to use sims to actually tell if an item is an upgrade or not, even more so than in the game right now. Secondly, you'll need to keep loads of spare items in your bags and have different gear sets based on how much corruption you can use. Thirdly, raid leaders will need to monitor how much corruption all of their raiders have and work out how the negative corruption affects might interact with raid boss abilities. It seems like Blizzard have gone "so, we heard you want kiss/curse mechanics, well here you go!" when this isn't what anyone asked for. People have talked about kiss/curse mechanics for mythic plus affixes, not on every gear item. People have said they don't want the RNG of Titanforging but Blizzard replaces it with an even more confusing rng system. Here's a simple solution to Titanforging: Limit it to double warforge (2 levels, max of +10 ilvls total) and allow people to manually 'warforge' items with an in-game currency (titan residuum or bring back valour). Just a hybrid of the upgrade+titanforging systems from WoD. Still rng but you can also work towards stuff and higher raid difficulties always give better gear.
Heck off im so done with this. Its worse then titanforging.
Really wonder how many people besides super tryharding guildes gonna use that system. It looks like a pug killer as well as PvP.
First of all, nobody knows about the chance of an item corrupting, if the chance was halved would you guys be crying like 8 year olds right now? Second, as far as I can tell nobody really knows what is a manageable level of corruption is yet so you might only be able to wear 2 corrupted tier 3 pieces or 6 tier 1s. Lastly, PTR stands for public TEST realm, if you actually tried it, and you don't like it, give constructive feedback on the forums.
This makes the RNG even worse. How about people finally stop wining about TF? There is nothing wrong with it. Stop being loot*!@#$s and it's gonna be just fine.
If they make it possible to tier down or up the items, and include resources which can reroll the corruption or apply it to clean items I see no problem with this system. Of those the absolute minimum is the ability to reroll what the corruption bonus is, as that at least allows to get your best options after X rolls(Tier 1 may actually be better than Tier 3 bonuses when you consider the increase in corruption, and since it will come with negatives to the average player it might be a damage increase just to cleanse everything, so this certainly removes the LFR gear is better than Mythic gear problem considering the players will likely deal less damage with the items than more.)As for people complaining about simming, Flash of Clarity is the only one you'd want to sim for(except it is unsimmable as there is no assurance you have your 3 ideal abilities you want it to reduce off CD when it procs, unless it does not use up stacks until you cast something that goes on CD). Everything else is either a defensive bonus(so not really something simmed for) or Extra Crit damage or Secondary stats. Crit damage is literally just take your average crit % in a fight and take that percent of the crit damage upgrade(ie if my average crit % is 33, then my tier 2 Crit Damage is essentially a flat 2% damage bonus(unless the crit damage is added to 200% damage and makes it 206%, in which case it is actually 3% increase in damage dealt by crits and 1% flat damage increase overall using our calc, but that is not a question of simming but a question of figuring out how it stacks which literally takes 5 seconds on a target dummy)). As for Secondaries, you literally just need to take all your bonus rating, and check what say 4% of it is, convert it to flat rating and ask yourself, is this mastery vers piece that also gives me Crit based on the Crit I have better than the same ilvl(no ilvl differences woo) piece with Crit and Mastery? Answer should be obvious if you know ANYTHING about which secondaries your spec prefers. So yeah as long as I can reroll the corruption on a piece if I farm Visions or something, I am all in(do please disable these in PvP though for obv reasons.)
This article reads kinda like the writer doesn't like it.
