plan to level each to 20~ and during that time go for the rep tokens dropped by the coral ancient rares in nazjatar. This is to avoid wasting rep by having one at 30 while the others are under.
Wow, the alliance followers are actually trash compared to horde version. Like Peon has an aoe damage that heals you, and neri has double stun.
"Minor Effect: When Lucid Dreams refunds Resources, you gain 543 Versatility for 8 seconds."I have rank 3 active in my heart, it only grants 356 versatility.
The ability list is missing everything that's not explicitly listed on the menu. Ori gets a healing CD early on, and they all get a 30% damage reduction along with a very significant 50% damage boost later on. I don't recall what level the damage reduction was, the 50% boost is level 18 I believe.
My take on this is that Blizz finally tried to make content that couldn't be blasted through in a week or two. By time gating the bodyguard rep to only 300xp/1 lvl per day, and spreading it across 3 bodyguards per faction there is al least 60 days worth of playing on just one faction to get them all to 20.. With them basically giving away the rep needed for pathfinder Pt.2, this will force some people to play slower. However bodyguards are also causing even more disparity in the world PVP areas. I've been ganked several times already by players who have max level bodyguards who can literally stun or sap me and then they just dance and laugh while the bodyguard kills me... In my opinion, there should NEVER be a single bodyguard that can defeat a players toon 1 on 1. Now of course there isn't just bodyguards to contend with, you end up getting hunter pets and warlock minions and then its 2-3 vs.1 and then the pain is just over that much quicker.I am just glad I saw this before I invested time into one that gave useless rewards. I will now just concentrate on a mount and getting my bodyguard to a level high enough to be on the other side of the gank fest.....
This guide is quite incomplete: my Hunter Akana gained a 30% damage reduction buff at level 8 and a healing cooldown at level 12. He also gave me a quest at level 2, level 5 and level 7. I'd assume them all get something every other level all the way until 20.
Really hope, that i won't need to level hordie to get a pet. Toy adds horde version of it to collection.
Good guide, thanks for posting
Fairly sure my follower ( Hunter Akana ) got a passive ability that increases his damage after 15 - might wanna include it as well. It was blessing of Gral, I think. Also, he has a heal ability.
Didn't know akana gave a mount, kind of stopped caring aside from the emissary about Naz after pathfinder. Poop. Thanks for info!
Not sure if it is my failing (probably) or Blizzard's, but I had no idea from in-game that followers went beyond Level 15, because that is ALL the game shows. I thought I had read about follower leveling here, so I may have missed that detail. These at least are "Active" followers, who actually go with us and help in combat. This is magnitudes of orders better than Mission Table, and Neri has been way more helpful than Leoraj was. (Sorry kitty.)All in all, my initial suspicions about this round of bodyguards was very wrong, and this generation actually proves beneficial to the leveling/grinding game. It's almost as though Blizzard has (shudder) learned from previous iterations and is hitting a stride with the bodyguard system. Now that I have flying it's not going to be so painful to level the rest of them. Thank you for a very informative article, WoWhead!
I wish I'd known that sooner. I started with Ori, which means I'll get the toy first--the one of the three rewards I want the least. :)
