My first thought reading the title went back to Zandalari Warbringers which made me read Warbringers for every expac which somehow led me to the 4 rares in Tanaan that dropped mounts and the rares on argus that dropped the eggs that turned into mana rays All this is happening and then I read the article and feel silly but with a name like Mountaholic I always think about the mounts of a new patch before the story and lore haha That being said another warbringers would be amazing I have loved then all
For the last time: Faction splinters are no longer important! Get it through your head!
No I don't think it would be interesting if Azshara and Sylvanas survived their encounters too, that's too many "close, but no cigar" moments for one expansion. Also, Sylvanas burnt children alive, IMO, any character that explicitly kills a child in the narrative (view ellegy) has to die, anything less would feel like being robbed.
8.3 might be about Sylvanas but it could also not be. I feel like we already had 8.0 for the Sylvanas patch. She was by far the most discussed character leading up to and during 8.0
I'm starting to think that the reason Old Gods are unkillable is because their spirits are somehow within the Shadowlands, while their physical body is on our world. Everything just points to the Shadowlands, and that "The veil wanes" quote might be referencing it. Azshara might have been gathering Artifacts to gain power so she could overthrow N'zoth and raise her own Empire. After all, that is what she probably wants to the most: To rule Azeroth like she did with the Kaldorei Empire without having to bow to anyone.
I wouldn't try to guess anything about Azshara and Sylvanas' fate. Maybe BFA's lore made many people upset but its most "mysteriously unpredictable" in Warcraft's history. They portrayed Jaina as a loser at the beginning but she came out victorious. Almost everyone (especially wowhead) have a firm believe that Sylvanas is becoming another Garrosh/Arthas. Knowing blizzard, they're keeping a big surprise for us about her. Also my speculation is: we're not going to kill Azshara either. She's mocking us directly since cataclysm only to die in a raid? Dont think so. She's way more important character than AU Guldan and he survived one full expac and half of the legion expac. So there's no way Azshara is going to live for a single patch.
I totally disagree on these obvious hopes of Sylvanas following Garrosh's path, which has been officially declined several times, even at quotes right here. Personally, I'm expecting a huge plot twist, I even wrote down my own Wild Premonitions some time ago.Summarized, my guesses are:We will ALL lose this war, the Battle "for" Azeroth will be failed, because:A new Black Empire will rise again and dominate the surface of the planet. We will be forced to live like the Broken of Argus, in hiding and with only small acts of defiance to survive.During this situation, our only hope will be the Undeath, the only thing that's immune to the effects of the Void. So, Sylvanas as the current leader of the Horde and former Alliance Commander Bolvar as Lich King and the new Light Undead of Calia Menethil will play a crucial role for our survival. After that, we may see a return of Illidan, who would behind that red star be united with Sargeras now, like an ultimate Demon Hunter, he'll willingly enslave the ultimate Demon and become a being like Lich King, which I also speculated that possibility in detail recently here. That way they'll be able to help us fight against Void together, which was the main reason that turned Sargeras dark and begin his Burning Crusade in the first place, but now with all Titans he will fight that war, by not destroying all life but saving all from corruption this time! And he'll start by helping us save the planet's Titan Soul from corruption of the Old Gods and avoid her from falling into the hands of the Void.Now...All previous signs and breadcrumbs seem to be taking us there. Or it's just my overactive imagination :bWe'll soon see ;>
I only hope that Azshara do not die in this patch... Kil'jaeden was wasted I hope she isn't going to be =(Hopefully 8.2 will give us a break with Sylvanas and Nathanos. I mean, WHERE'S THRALL!
"With the ability to raise Undead of all races, regardless of free will, the parallels to the Lich King are increasing."What the hell are you talking about here? Sylvanas cant raise all races and everyone she raises, has free will. The Darkshore quests are all about Night elves accepting or refusing the gift of the Valkyr. So all the undead night elfs accepted the Gift by ther own will!
The plot twist is that there will be no plot twist as nothing interesting happened so far in the expansion that made sense, so I'm certain it will continue to be the case in the future considering we're already halfway towards the end of it.
You are missing one last fact: the defeat of the mag'har in Draenor and the beginning of the Crusade of light led by Yriel and the Naaru (a new army of light that seems to act like the Legion purging planet for planet)As the fel power of Gul'dan could open portals, could light do the same? I see a scenario where finally these fanatics of light enter through the portal and start a kind of war between darkness and light, where Azeroth is caught in the crossfire.
if we kill off the lich queen i'll be happy, disappointed otherwise. won't accept "i was corrupted by the shadowlands" as an excuse. She's always been a shady character.
