I got two days thx blizz! I hope you punish ppl who ^&*!s up economy with new professions tools?
used glitch to finish leveling alt, spammed dungeons to get 5 final levels till cap, banned for a week, friend who did the same but for 6 levels is banned for a month, good job blizzard, thats a fair distribution of suspensions here LULW
It's an abuse, but it was only for leveling. That seems like it should warrant at least a smaller minimum punishment for the really small offenses.

Good. I know this exploit existed, and never dared to buy that experience potion Incase I was flagged for anything. I’m over here leveling at a normal pace seeing people do the same quests, but leveling up x20 past me, which is highly unfair. I hope the people that exploited the experience potion like this get more than a month, so they know better next time to never take part in something that’s clearly labeled “an exploit.”
Curious as to whether they're rolling back the XP gains also.
People seem to think there's a "blizzard side" and a "player side" for this argument, there's not. That's not how this works, you don't get to pick and choose what exploit is okay and what's not. This is the only "side" to this: You agreed to the ToS of the game when you play the game, exploiting glitches in the game is prohibited, you do not get to exploit a glitch you found and then blame Blizzard when you get punished, you broke the rules you agreed to, you were at fault, end of story. Glitches are not things that are purposefully put into the game, they happen for various reasons, there is no such thing as a glitchless game or a patch to a game that doesn't come with glitches to it. Some things that are glitched when they go live, are not glitched during testing. To blame Blizzard for the mere existence of glitches in the code of a game (that is huge btw) and use that as a means to justify your actions which you know full well were exploitative in nature, is trash behavior. You cannot act like you are doing things for a benevolent reason when you exploit a bug for your pure benefit, no one should thank you for that, because you didn't report the bug, normal non-trash human beings reported the bug and didn't exploit it, those are the people who got Blizzard's attention to it, not the people abusing it who we all know don't report it, otherwise they'd get caught easier. They should not thank you for abusing it.Someone mentioned how they are punishing this but not punishing bots, they are punishing bots, but bots require proof of botting, which is somewhat difficult. Botting is automated, no human interaction necessary. What many people think are bots are people who own multiple accounts and are actively playing them while sitting at the computer. I've never encountered any actual bots, only multiboxers, doesn't mean they don't exist. Player reports are one of the only ways for them to get notified about bots. BTW, players seem to think banning bots is some simple *press ban button* thing, it's not, if they ban a bot, they will just use another account, many bots are for gold sellers, they usually have many accounts that are actually just stolen accounts, banning one just means they will hop on another, they prefer to try to figure out how the bot works so they can try to ban all the accounts in one go. The vast majority of players who don't know better think multiboxers are bots or "its so easy" to tell when someone is a bot, most of the time they are wrong.
I agree that these people needed to be banned. If something gives you an advantage over people and it's due to a bug that you're intentionally exploiting, then you deserve to be banned. It's like if you find a hoophole not to pay your taxes... If you're found out, you can't just go "Well the loophole was there so you shouldn't sue me !"However, I do agree that currently, leveling is really long. Not as much as pre 8.1 of course, but it's still very long. I think they should work in an achievement reward for players who already have multiple max level characters. Here's an exemple of how this could work : You have 1 max level character, you get an achievement. You're rewarded with a toy that you can use 24/24h, that gives you a +10% xp boost (of course, stackable with heirlooms and the likes). You now have 5 max level characters, you get another achievement. You're rewarded with a toy that you can use 24/24 that gives you a +30% xp boost. You now have 10 max level characters. You get yet another achievement, and are rewarded with a toy that you can use 24/24 that gives you a +50% xp boost. It becomes 75% after 15 characters, 100 after 25, and it stops at 25. That way, you would make it less tedious for people who have leveled 30+ max level characters (as do I ...), but it would still take a lot of effort to get these bonuses (and it would still take some time to get to max level, just 25 hours instead of 50). That way, Blizz could still get that sweet, sweet character service money (which is outrageous let's not kid ourselves), but also give players a viable alternative.Because honestly, allied races are nice, but leveling 2 new ones every patch is gonna be annoying.
