That's alot of employees laid off I'm sorry. I'm not angry, just sad.On another note hope they come up with something different then the male zandalli dance, so different vs male troll dance just don't seem to fit the theme at all.
Wondering where it's written that any company must act morally and treat employees nice? Sure, this sucks. BUT the purpose of *all* businesses is To Make A Profit. Period. When a company doesn't treat their human resources well, words gets out, and ultimately that company cannot hire good people...and it goes out of business. Yes, this sucks for the affected, but it is how the machine works. Shouldn't get all high and mighty and filled with righteous indignation over it...set up a GoFundMe and gather money for all the displaced employees or something. With today's economy they can find other jobs quickly. Also, didn't the EA takeover contract have a clause that the Blizz devs will still always be the final word on release dates? I seem to remember that being reported back in the day...
I hate to say it but these job cuts sound like trimming the fat, which usually entails getting rid of employees who aren't really performing but it is too much hassle to fire them so you trim them during a layoff. Without first hand knowledge, it's hard to get mad about this like this guy is saying to do in the video.
Unpleasant that people are being laid off - but I'm glad Blizzard is axing a bloated social media / esports arm and doubling down on developers, it sounds like exactly what a lot of people were asking for after Blizzcon - a focus on making games, that should be their priority, the rest will follow. My only gripes are the over paid execs and steps towards mobile are still there - but after the nosedive Blizzard stocks took seeing unimportant roles taking the hit and development teams untouched seems like the best outcome imaginable, even if it's unfortunate for the people losing their jobs.
It's just like a wise post said, "why are we paying for people to address the community's concerns when we dont listen to the community anyway ?"
Thank you. <3
Activision is pure poison
This segment of wowhead has zero value for me.The news that they typically share is sometimes a week or more old before they make their video and has already been on Wowhead long before these posts. What makes this different than any of the other WoW YouTube channels?Nobbel provides original content. The Method M+ bits provide original analysis and suggestionsThe Taliesen and Evietel are just entertainment. It’s like Extra or TMZ for WoW.Not trying to hate, just honestly confused as to why they have such a predominant presence here. You could just post a link and be done with it if you are trying to get them views.
Brilliant and wise video!
I am sorely disappointed they didn't even mention the Necklaces that drop during "Love is in the Air!"IT WAS SUCH AN OB-VI-OUS *punchline*, WE DIDN'T EVEN COVER IT. OB-VI-OUS-LY.
