The experience from 111 to 120 has been lowered by a whopping 3,130, which is about the amount given by an herb node.
I did a spreadsheet and found that, on live, it takes 37'871'720 XP to get from 20 to 120, and on the PTR it takes 29'428'560 XP. That's about 22.29% less. And then if we look at the 30-110 range, that's a 28.29% decrease.
I don't understand why people are complaining. It's not that slow. If anything, 110-120 should be increased as I can get to 120 before I'm done leveling in the 2nd of 3 zones. They should work on making it more fun rather then speeing up the leveling. Better story narrative for each zone, spread out your abilities and bring back the level 1, level 2, etc... for each ability so you feel rewarded for leveling rather then just trying to get your char to max asap so you can run Island Expeditions. Bring back class quests or just build new ones.
Do this and double the EXP gains on Heirloom gear. Leveling alts should be fun and fast not a dam chore!
Should be able to bust through Legion /w an invasion up in 2-3 hours with that reduction
This is great news!
About time. Especially for the 60-80 bracket.
I am a huge fan of this change. And with the new invasions coming in, 110-120 will be easy peasy like it was in Legion. I am so excited for 8.1 to get here with all the system updates. Just wish I didn't have to wait to December 11th for it. Oh well, still super excited about all of this cool stuff coming.
Oh sweet. Suddenly I'm glad I've neglected leveling my allied races so long.
Guys, when you get something good you actually have to say thank you and stop asking for more.... not trying to offend people but yeah, they cant reduce the experience you need on current content which is really easy to level to 120.
Well, that's disappointing...
Well they did increase the xp required per level between level 40 and 60 by 40%, so now they're bringing it back to where it was? And yes, 60-80 needed some reduction because Outland / Northrend has the pre-Cata philosophy where the questing experience is scattered with a lot of travel time, zones are really big and before you can get fast flying at 70 it's extremely slow to navigate. I admit I levelled 6 characters back in wotlk and I don't have a single Northrend zone completion achievement for loremaster, because questing back then was so awful that I mostly did required questlines to unlock dungeon quests or questlines that would give me a nice blue item, skipping everything else. Btw, sons of Hodir, I still hate you and that questline with flying to Temple of Storms, Valkyrion and whatnot. Cata introduced the revolutionary concept of "put the quests nearby to the hub you picked them from" and applied it to all of 1-60 content. Some classic quests like killing that bear in Loch Modan still exist but the bear got relocated to a much closer cave to the quest hub.
I'm glad they did this, but I know they wanted the leveling for your main to be more meaningful for new players, and I think an easy answer to do this and to make it also easier for people wanting to lvl alts is to make boot/waist/glove heirlooms and give them each a 5-10%(maybe boots and gloves 10, and waist 5) increase to xp. That way alt leveling is easier everyone can be happy.
