This could be one more example that BFA is just a fill expansion and 9.0 will come with everything (as it happened in Legion), I mean, for me this expansion will only focus on the war between the Horde and the alliance, ignoring the threat of old god. Possibly the final raid of this expansion is really Sylvanas, who by defeating her, and blaming her for all the evils, finally achieves that the alliance and the horde will leave the conflict and join together to defeat the real threat that would be N'zoth.Or possibly we achieve a partial victory and sylvanas is hidden somewhere, and in the next expansion it is the final boss raid of the first raid.I really do not see how they can introduce the threat of emptiness and the old gods into this, because it seems that the war between the horde and the alliance is currently the most important part of the expansion, and I do not see them joining in some future while Sylvanas continues to lead the horde.
The Aszhara encounter really needs a Halls of Refection love...I mean, we faced Aszhara 3 times already and couldn’t do anything to her...1) Well of Eternity dungeon, we could only interrupt her mind control ability and even if you do damage to her, it doesn’t even phase her. After the death of the mobs around her, she leaves only because she is bored.2) I think this is an Alliance only quest line in Darkshore post Cata. Malfurion thinks he spotted Aszhara and teams up with you to confront her. She merely mocks us and isn’t even phased with any of Malfurions attacks.3) In Legion, we (the player) are captured by the Naga and quickly rescued by Prince Farondis. Before rescuing us, Aszhara, in elven form tries to get Farondis to join her, that she can get rid of their curse (I think, but they’re ghosts?). Farondis answers by unleashing everything in his power onto her and barely takes a % of her health. And Aszhara is only shrugs it off.So I’m kind of glad that we might not be able to defeat her, she should be at least boss at the 2nd to last raid and be another boss in the next expansion if it does go into an Old God/Void expansion.
My prediction is that 8.2 will be naga-focused, with a new zone for World Quests and a questline, as well as a naga raid and possibly a new dungeon as well.(basically like 7.2 with Broken Shore/Tomb of Sargeras) The final boss of that raid would be Azshara. And while I'm not 100% confident in the following, I still believe in it:The zone will be Zin-Azshari, rising from the depth, located left of the maelstrom. And it wouldn't surprise me if parts of the zone are still underwater, but better done than Vashj'ir back in the day.The raid would then be the palace of Azshara. Also, I guess 8.2 will continue the Alliance/Horde storyline, including a new warfront; but I can't make any predictions on the direction of this story. I guess that eventually, in 8.3 maybe, they somehow make peace to face N'Zoth
I agree with almost everything you say in your post except this
This is quality speculation.
I only want to add that there is a popular theory that Circle Of Stars is above the mealstormhttps://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/6mlw78/spoilerto_find_him_drown_yourself_in_a_circle_of/
Magni 'bad'?, I bet. He gave us a necklace, asked us to work 'in the name of Azeroth' with it and nobody blinked.
AH yes, Blizzard Lore and writing is as predictable as a tyler perry movie.
H. P. Lovecraft would be proud As would August Derleth. I do hope that Blizzard is paying royalties to the Lovecraft estate. :)
We'll see it on blizzcon.
A few people keep saying this silly nonsense about Azerite being some sort of Old God scam and sorry but it's really dumb. You're not supposed to trust Old God whispers, they are trying to get you to give up so they can corrupt you and make you do their bidding.
Uhm. Could be that we will end up with next expansion be a completely a was against a revived Black Empire with the Old Gods? If we are not collecting Azerite for our homegrown titan maybe is for reviving all the Old Gods at full power. The whole Sylvanas' situation is just to deceive us and play for time.
'The king of diamonds' isn't 'the diamond king'. The second one is Magni, of course, but the first one is most likely Gallywix.
This is actually one of the best theorizing articles that I’ve seen in a while. Well done!
This new raid looks really great, my guild is starting mythic Uldir but we are ready for new things!
