i hope malfurion survives the encounter.
Ha, funny how alot of ppl is against killing others and civillians but done it with most of mobs and creatures trough leveling. You were blindly following orders from hundreds of npc. Its full scale war and Horde does what needs to be done. Better get over it.Also do i really need to say that Alli is trying to make friends with blood trolls and sethrak in BfA? They are using what they can in that war as Horde is.
A few things:1. It still is unclear, who burned down Teldrassil. Sylvanas' motivations clearly were on capturing. Also, eliminating a threat is not meaning a genocide like many try to pin on her right away.2. The war seems to be already have started at the point of the Teldrassil burning.3. I'm as pissed as everyone else here about the "rounding up civilians" part, but(!) before everyone says, that Sylvanas tolerates that or even ordered it, let us wait for more instances of something like that happening. At the moment though, it seems like having been added as shock value - and it seems to work, but we don't know how... normal that will be in Sylvanas' Horde. In other words, calm down.
FOR THE HORDE KILL THEM ALL
One thing I've noticed is that Sylvanas is clearly attacking Teldrassil, but the line I read somewhere about her wanting to capture it makes me wonder if SHE is really the one who set it ablaze. I mean, Sylvanas is the most likely candidate, but at the same time she's the most obvious. And if she was going to destroy Teldrassil, why wouldn't she use blight over fire, considering her track record? The fact that this event is called the BURNING of Teldrassil and not the BLIGHTING of Teldrassil makes me wonder if she IS responsible, or if she's being set up. Add in the fact that we've only seen the before and after of the Burning of Teldrassil and not what happen during it, there's still a chance for Sylvanas to come out of this as framed. Or she could end up responsible after all, proving all of this irrelevant. But until then, I plan to keep myself wondering otherwise! So I have three different theories, and I think one of three people is responsible for Teldrassil's fiery fate:1. SylvanasThe most obvious choice, as I stated. She's clearly having the Horde attack Teldrassil, so her being the one responsible for burning it seems inevitable. Despite my suspicions, she could still end up being the one who burned the world tree, considering she's the most likely candidate. As it stands, Sylvanas is being built to look like Garrosh, but even worse. And whether she's responsible or not, I do NOT see her coming out of Battle for Azeroth alive. So perhaps Blizzard is thinking "Screw it! Let's just have Sylvanas go full-evil at this point!". Oh, and if the Horde does end this expansion with ANOTHER new Warchief, I hope it's Baine.2. AzsharaWe're clearly fighting Azshara at SOME point in this expansion. Perhaps she want to keep the Alliance and the Horde distracted by making them destroy each other. Setting up the Horde to make it look like the burned Teldrassil is a brilliant move on her part. And Azshara is most evil of the three candidates I'm predicting. So, in my opinion, Azshara being the one who burns Teldrassil makes more sense than having it be Sylvanas. It's less obvious, and it would keep the Horde from looking like mindless animals. If it IS her doing, her plan obviously worked.3. JainaThis one is the least likely, but it's a theory that I've seen floating around in several places. Jaina seems a bit unstable when it comes to her hatred for the Horde. But there's one line that she uttered too the Kirin Tor previously back when she wanted to destroy Orgrimmar. A line that seems bit too coincidental..."Will you act when Teldrassil falls? When they are burning a world tree?"That one line could be more than just a coincidence, and maybe she burned Teldrassil in order to drive a permanent wedge between the Horde and Alliance once and for all. Plus we haven't seen her in Legion since the Kirin Tor voted to let the Horde back into Dalaran, which was back near the beginning of the expansion. So what HAS she been doing all this time? It definitely makes you wonder, considering how much planning this would take. Oh, and there's also what Varimathras says to the Alliance before his fight:"So, your Alliance still endures. Longer than I expected, though she has already planted the seeds of its downfall. She is patient, that one. When your thrones run red with betrayal...when your holy places burn and the shattered mask hangs above your hearth...only then you will know. And it will be too late."The reason this is the least likely scenario despite all my evidence. Because I feel like Jaina wouldn't go to THAT extreme unless she was corrupted by N'Zoth or something ("Her heart is a crater and we have filled it."). So even though I don't really think it's Jaina, I still consider it a possibility. And I actually kind of want it to be Jaina because that's the least boring angle in my opinion.
But Alliance also has dirty hands over the various expansions. Some of the things I remember...a town in the old Barrens being annihilated by an Alliance general...it was a major Tauren hunting camp. Can’t remember off hand the name of the town but they were innocent and not involved in the war. And didn’t Jaina go all genocidal and kill a bunch of blood elves that worked for the sunreavers in MoP? And more recently Genn sacrificed a bunch of folks in his personal vendetta against Sylvanas in Legion? And of course Arthas - who killed innocent citizens, before he became Lich King, to prevent them turning in advance. And on the Horde side, the orcs committed genocide against the Draenei...And it sounds to me like Sylvanas is being set up.
You guys love to talk about Thrall in Warcraft 3 as if everything that happened with the Horde during that time would 100% ensure that they would forever be a faction that would never engage in brutality. It's utterly preposterous. Acting as if Thrall has the power to ensure that the Horde never slays civilians is the most naive and absurd thing I can imagine. You would do well to remember what happened to the Horde when Thrall left someone else in charge. You guys put all of your eggs in one basket with the actions of Thrall. If you take Thrall out of the equation and what do you have then? You don't have much of an argument when you weigh it entirely upon a single solitary person. Warchief or not, they don't have the ability to control all things at once. You willingly choose to ignore everything that has happened within the Horde since Warcraft 3, as if it will somehow change reality. You guys just don't want the story to move forward because you know what will happen if it does. Thrall isn't going to be there to hold everyone's hands forever. Frankly, I don't believe that the Horde has the luxury to become civilized even if they wanted to. They don't have the resources, the time, and the freedom to suddenly completely change their ideology. Perhaps if they didn't have the Alliance and other foes to contend with, then they would have the breathing room to work towards enacting change.Personally, from my perspective and my understanding of the lore which is entirely based on what Blizzard has written. I don't see a problem with the Horde attacks that results in dead civilians. I don't think it's a big deal, I think it's simply a reality in a world with two very different warring factions that each have very different ideologies. From the Horde perspective they are honorable, and they are doing the things they have to in order to survive. Whether it makes sense to your civilized mind or not is not the point. It makes sense to them from their particular position and point of view. Many people enjoy being able to role play from this perspective. Without the brutal Horde you cease to have the ability to play from the role of a more savage point of view. I don't understand why some people have such an issue with this, and willingly oppose the very opposite perspective to the civilized and composed one. This is a role playing game, and it only makes sense to have different perspectives. The Alliance is one perspective, and the Horde is the other. What is considered honorable and what is not largely depends on which of these perspectives you are coming from. Neither one is necessarily right or wrong, and each perspective has it's own merits. This is the kind of story that World of Warcraft has always been about. When you play from different perspectives you have an alternate understanding of the narrative. This is what role playing is all about. I truly do believe that many players have falsely led themselves to believe that the perspective they are playing from is universal to all other perspectives within the story.I'll gladly play from either role as Alliance or as the Horde. They are each unique and intriguing in their own ways. Dismissing and labeling an entire faction as one thing is a really convenient way to close your mind off to the reality that these things are far more complicated than they may seem. It's almost like some of you don't want to enjoy the story unless things are spelled out for you in very bold letters. It's like you get angry when you are expected to explore the story more and think for yourself.
dont complait about killing civilians.. is a WAR sadly but civilians died in every single war in wow history also in real lifeOurs is a cycle of hatred.Alliances forged and broken. We have paid the price for sharing this world and we have forgotten what makes us strong.
i hate this ^&*! why blizz do this to horde..
Just one thing that comes to my mind. Nordrassil, also a world tree, once burned too because one of the most powerful and giant Eredar Demon Warlocks exploded while hugging it. And yet, it looks perfectly fine, green and healthy today. So if Teldrassil is meant to remain completely destroyed after this, it had to be destroyed with something even more powerful than a Demon fire, no?Just a thought.
It's really bizarre that exactly as an event like this is happening, Horde gets like 5 or more new Allied races (or who knows how many they plan for this expansion). What race would be willing to join the Horde after being exposed to this modus operandi they see? I mean, the Nightfallen and Highmountain Tauren are strangely OK with joining this Horde. Unlike the old races, they have no history of being allied with the Horde, they have no bonds, no commitments, no obligation to server under the Horde... yet they still do it. Nightfallen were like: "Eh, Tyrande was a bit mean when talking to us. It means they are evil and suppress the cultures of their allies. Now give me that gas mask, I am commanded to slay all those innocent civilians and turn them into eternal undead slaves under the new Lich Queen I never knew and had no allegiances to before."The Draenor Orcs also only escaped enslavement from Demon masters only to willingly walk into Scourge enslavement. That's just offensive to witness.I mean, look how Sylvanas treats her new "allies" in your embassy in the allied race quest. She refers to the Mag'har Orcs as numerous and expandable, and when you finish the quest, she always says something along the lines of "You are slave of the Horde now, and you will do everything I tell you without a question, just like the rest of your kind!"Way to treat friends. Sylvanas must be great at parties...
