I love this addition. Bravo to Blizz rewarding those players that have been playing the game at a high level for 12 years...I am not one of those players that have this mount but I have friends that have that title
I don't have a dog in this fight, but how many Scarab Lords are still playing?
I think it's cool that they did this, however I also think the old model looks way better, maybe that's just nostalgia speaking...
I support the mount upgrade. I don't have the title and mount personally, but improving older skins is always a good idea. What I would like to see is a unique skin and mount that can be used outside AQ for folks that complete the same questline, but after the gates have opened.
I'd like to have the black one. But honestly just to have it. I probably won't use any of these. Honestly though its nice to see some more legit rare stuff. Even if I'll never have it.The entertainment I'll get from people moaning about it on the forums will be worth it.
Should have been a 1 long event and the black once coukd have been for scarab lords only but just during that week. Old one is still coolest and i'll probably use it more then the new.
Upgrade the ultramarine tank as well. This is unfair
I generally don't oppose unique mounts or looks as long as something similiar can be obtained at any time through dedication, skill or money.Planning to add a purchasable mount? Fine. Make something somewhat alike, and available through achievement, or farmable. This is a case here... so yeah, someone who played ages ago or bought up an old account on ebay gets to sport unique mount... fine, I can also get one, just not exactly the same. What was pissing me off, were the Quiraji instance-only mounts. While we're on it, I think Blizzard is deprecating their content in an outright manner.Just bloody look at the whole MOVEMENT around Herald of the Titans. One would assume they should get a clue that putting in achievements that require specific level, gear and skill in a given portion of content REGARDLESS of what is current, would be wildly popular... and those could be the achievements that award mounts, too.Oh, wait. Do the CLASSIC SERVERS mean that I might get to roll a toon and do the Gates Opening now? And being account-wide, I might hope for a Scarab Lord title?
So the only thing this new model gets used for is a mount for Scarab Lords.Time and resources that could be spent on making Worgen/Goblin models or warlock animations, or literally anything else that benefits the entire playerbase. But hey, Ion wanted a new mount, and he wanted it to be exclusive to him! Each day I lose a little more faith in Blizzard. They don't even try hiding their scummy practices anymore.
I don't have the Scarab Lord title and I don't mind that they updated the model for those who have it.
this is probably one of the few exclusive mounts I can't get that I don't mind others having.. but it feels less genuine because so few Scarab Lords even play. I've seen one single person who had the title since I've been playing in Wrath. I feel like the Black tank update will only cause Scarab Lord's who no longer play to sell their accounts (if they haven't done that already). Already one of the top google searches is something like "scarab lord account for sale".
See you only say that because you werent there. That event was insane. The people who went through it back then deserve it. And if they are still playing 13 YEARS later a small resolution up grade as something to show off is a small reward but an awesome one. WoW shouldnt be fair, thats what makes the game great and gives people something to strive towards and keep them playing all them time so they dont miss events. Casual players shouldnt get everything because they dont invest the same time and effort. Just like the real world and if some guy who plays 4 hours a week gets as much as me playing say 50 or more hours a week that in my eyes is a little closer to "unfair". So the point is. Its a small thing, its impossible to have everything in wow (I have tried for years) so you need to be content with what you cant get and enjoy it. Otherwise you will always be sour. You will forget about it in a month anyway. I am a huge mount collector and and i get this, it's fair in its own way giving reward to people who have invested the most time out of us all
I agree - except creating new stuff that some people won't ever even have the opportunity is different from what I'd support. I don't like the idea that because I might have been deployed and unable to gain the scarab lord title, I am not eligible to try for this mount 10 years later.
EVERY comment here proves that Blizzard's whole, "It's just cosmetic, it doesn't effect game play!" argument for skins in Overwatch is stupid, false, and that they know it. Like it, hate it, defend it, or rail against it, you're an and idiot if you don't see that cosmetic items like these have major impacts on game play. They effect how you play the game, how often you play the game, what activities you do when you play the game, and (some would say most importantly), how much enjoyment and fulfillment you get out of playing the game.I failed to get Scarab Lord and Hand of A'dal, missing out on them forever. I busted my hump to get my Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher, under the assumption that it and my Kingslayer title would not be available in the next expansion. I thought I'd finally have something special. Well, that didn't work out so well. Everyone and their dog has the mount and the title, and even the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher and Light of Dawn aren't special. Talk about special all you want, but in the end I have two questions for you? Isn't the achievement, with it's date, the most important part of being a Scarab Lord? Why is it that is title and mount are so special and my title and mount aren't? The only real answers to these questions are yes, and they aren't.
As stated earlier, most players obtained this mount by server transferring during WotLK expansion. So, its like rewarding: a.) sneakb.) exploiterc.) pay2win'erd.) all the aboveYou decide.
It seems kinda crazy to be rewarding people for an achievement that happened about 10 years ago, I wouldn't mind it if there was still a way to get Scarab Lord, else it just unnecessarily exclusive. Will blizz bring back Scarab Lord with the Classic wow servers? Doubt it.
Black one is fine, wish the archaeology one gave an updated-resolution version as well.Honestly, all the Qiraji mounts should be usable outside AQ. It's been 15 years, so like, why not?
