Great work as always, Gumdrops. Thank you 😁
Thanks for the work!I'm a bit surprised on the lootbox idea. I think most of the game makers try to avoid the world after what happeneed with EA BF II. I'm not saying is a bad idea but kinda not blizzardy.... if I may say. Now I have to lvl my rogue.... I have 110 jc/bs, but for lootbox the cheapest way to open is rogue.
I really appreciate these articles since I play the auction house a lot while at work (Mobile Armory is so great for this!) while doing the main bulk of gaming after hours, not to mention managing my boyfriend's sales since he's not that great with playing with the market... Hey, at least I get to control his spending since he spends way more than I do, both RL and in-game! XDThough, you are right about being patient. There are some goblins out there who horde up a lot of materials, probably more than what one might think (Personally, I had 20,000 units of a fabric at one point before I went crazy and trained an alt's tailoring skill and still had too much left over), and they're able to space out their sales. I feel like it's better to list smaller amounts of sales, like maybe 5 stacks of 5 objects depending on the item in question, to at least get a decent sale per day without too much work. And especially for goods where people are just undercutting by ONE COPPER (Huge peeve of mine), these ones I usually go for the jugular and undercut by silvers, maybe even a gold coin or two depending on the price, or if it's too low, I wait a couple days (Sometimes even within the hour) and check back to see if the price has gone up or not. I know there are some things that are harder to push on the AH, but again, it's just patience. There's always going to be that one buyer who will want it really bad.Though, I do have a question for you, Gumdrops. Like in the real world, there's advertising to help drive sales. While I don't really use this method, do you think people posting ads in LFR/Trade chat helps with this? I feel like it doesn't due to the amount of conversations going on that it pushes the ad out of view fairly quickly, not to mention that not everyone has their LFR/Trade chat window open.
Enchanting is not the only profession where simplifying the mats can and will work. What about Leatherworking and Tailoring with all the different type of leather and cloth? Those also drop depends on mob level. You can ignore Blacksmiths I guess since mining nodes can stay same without any scaling problem.I would say those crafting professions might be in more trouble than enchanting since a lot of people still buy old crafted gear for xmog or roleplay. Enchanting on the other hand is pretty much useless at lower levels.
Nice post, can't wait for that Postmaster quest! Still, I can't believe you still use Reddit, ugh.
that realm price tool looks amazing. my only request is a dark theme plz. white is burning my eyes! @_@ (including the white on this wowhead comment box that i'm typing in right now) *burns retinas*
What do you mean "our friend Studen?" This guy said on his stream one night that Hunters are essentially "dog &*!@." You know what I did as a Hunter since 2006? I made several youtube videos called Studen Albatroz vs Painbow and destroyed him in speed in efficiency in every single one BECAUSE I am a superior farming class: a Hunter. This guy is so egotistical and arrogant that even after my videos and his viewers telling him about how great Hunters are, he refuses to admit it's true and continues to encourage people to be druids and monks for farming. In fact he doubled down on them in a video shortly after I began making mine. The guy also uses other people's insight and doesn't give credit to anyone else. The guy really knows nothing about farming and certainly doesn't have any insight himself. He's a clickbaiter on top of all that claiming hundreds of thousands of gold per hour in spots when we all know that simply isn't true. The only redeeming quality about him is that he makes videos about actually playing the game rather than botting which is what a lot of wow players do.
Leather, Cloth and eventually Ores will need the pruning sooner or later too, and there's one simple reason: coverage. If you choose Enchanting, then anywhere will be fine since everywhere will be giving you the right mats. Now Leatherworking has built in conversion, but that is actually horribly inefficient since you usually need 5 or 4 of lower leather for one that's higher, and a total of materials needed to level can go into hundreds. This is also why they added the catch-ups, but these were a band-aid to quickly make a profession attainable without spending several days on farming in vanilla content.I understand that the reason for Enchanting changes is to make level-appropriate content equally appropriate for leveling your professions, and to do that, they need to either cut down heavily on mat consumption in recipes, or simply alter mat structure again... one type of lether, one of scale, maybe one special leather and one special scale from instance mobs and bosses for rare recipes... perhaps keeping raid dropped mats for relevant recipes, too. After that, balance the usage in recipes and ensure you can level to around 300 using just plain, open-world mats with occasional usage of rare mats for multipoint recipes.Same goes for tailoring.
Honestly, patience is the biggest thing, especially on lower pop realms. I've made so many millions from relisting things. Just make sure your groups are good, and you purge old stuff that won't re-list. I just considered it a pile I was tossing thing onto. So many rare items, that I ended up having 1/4 of my realm's AH value just from my auctions alone. These days I'm just lazy and use the easy gold from missions :P
Requiring us to have boxes unlocked to get green items is complete nonsense. The amount of time that requires is enormous and an absurd requirement. If they are going to do that they must remove the unlocking requirement.
