Trying a new article series here on Wowhead since the gold making community is really active and we'd like to highlight their work more! If you run a community and would like to author a similar roundup for your area of specialty, let me know and I'l try to work something out :)
My AH toon sits in the Aldor banking section of Shattarth. It is less than a 10 sec walk to a mailbox, ah, bank, and guild bank, and is very quiet over there. I suggest people check it out. Even level 1s can be ported there, the Aldor stay neutral for you at the beginning.
saw the word measurement and was hoping for info/estimates of server average net worth and player net worth :(cool info tho
not what i expected.
So it's happening!Great initiative, Gumdrops! Really hope that the column brings more people into Gold Making world - and more Rich Goblins to Azeroth!
get eng for bank altsyou want outdoor ah with close mailbox and bankso you can stay mountedsucks to be alliance
alot of useful info, thanks for the guide and keep it up
Thumps up for the Garrison AH mention. Never have to worry about a bored pvp'er or multiboxer, never crowded, has mount access so you can post stuff, fly to the bank/mailbox, and fly back without every being dismounted.
This is a great start! Thanks for the Dádiva do Caçador de Sangue enchant tip. I didn't know you could do that.
Annnddddd Blizzard still has not made blood of Sargeras BoA ! LAME!
I think these series are a good idea, I'd like to see some beginners tipse/miniguides in them to start your adventure with more advanced auctioning addons like Auctionator or Trade Skill Master :)
I used to get a lot of angry whispers on my server and people avoiding buying my items but since i moved my AH activities to my garrison most of this is over, its awesome
I love the idea of this Gumdrops, thank you <3
I liked this but one thing, maybe an idea for next time is defining a gold sink. Blizzard has stated the spider mount isn't intended to reduce available gold in game. To me that is not a gold sink. It is a one time purchase. A gold sink (imo) is a recurring cost (game time, raid potions, materials, and Alts lol). Just a thought.
Biggest thing about working the AH is patience. Having started an AH toon in Cata, I didn't see much from sales. Was somewhat frustrated and it was very time consuming to constantly put stuff up one listing at a time. Once MoP hit, I revised my strategy and began using TSM with a few different price gathering tools. Made it a lot easier to compare pricing and get listings posted faster. Now at any one time I can have up to 400+ items in the AH, priced competitively, and since WoD I have seen sales increase. Took a bit of fine tuning for pricing items, but once you get the hang of it it will pretty much run itself. Legion has been best yet, not sure if due to tmog changes though. At first thought it would hurt sales, but I think it has actually helped. Have earn just over 200k selling dropped gears since Legion start, and about 100k or maybe more in crafted gears. Although I could do better for crafted stuff, haven't really been leveling up all my alts. I am just a casual AH guest :).Just remember, nobody is rich overnite. If you already have gold, you might want to look into the buy / resell market. But what is good today, may not be tomorrow. If you are willing to buy or farm mats for crafted gears, do it. A good friend of mine made over a million (yes million) selling crafted leatherworking stuff at the start of Legion. Although he farmed all his mats, but he also has all the time in the world...unlike some of the working class.
