Dress for Luxurious Success: The Complete Guide to Gearing Your Bank Alt

The leveling dust has settled, you’ve begun to make gold again--it's the perfect time to spruce up your bank alt! Sure, you could go running around in starting zone gear, but it’s much more fun to play the Auction House in style. Show up for work dressed for luxurious success. From fishing rewards to wine glasses, we’ve highlighted the best of the offbeat items your low-level bank alt can equip. Whether you’re a veteran banker putting
Viznik Farejouro
to shame or a new player with an empty bank, retire your overdone
Paletó de Smoking
and let everyone know that your bank alt appreciates the finer side of Azeroth.
Check out the coolest items for each slot, holiday rewards, special armor vendors, and some sample outfits after the break!
For the purpose of this guide, we’ll assume your bank alt is level 10 in order to show up on the Armory (since half the fun in rolling a bank alt is the mix of anonymity and showing off). We’ll also mostly focus on cloth items since any class can equip them. We won't highlight these items for every slot because there are so many, but in general, creating level 1s with the sole purpose to mail unique starter-zone gear to your bank alt is a great fashion resource.

Head
View your world through luxury-tinted shades. Finding a special helm will make your bank alt stand out, as helms for low-level toons are generally uncommon. Here are a few of our favorite options:
Máscara do Bandido Elfo Sangrento
, an imperial mask, drops from
Bandido Elfo Sangrento
, a spy hidden on
Ilha Névoa Lazúli
. (Horde, don’t be discouraged—he’s hostile to you as well.) He has roughly a 20% chance to drop the mask, but respawns almost instantly.
Monóculo do Nobre
is obtained from
Saco de Tesouros de Pesca
, a reward for completing any of the Shattrath fishing dailies, which require lvl 70. While it’s roughly a 1% chance from the
Bag of Fishing Treasures
, these fishing dailies can also give you some other fun vanity gear, such as
Chapéu de Safári Surrado
. However, if you’re impatient to look sophisticated, consider getting either
Monóculo de Rubi do Joalheiro
,
Monóculo de Safira do Joalheiro
, or
Monóculo de Âmbar do Joalheiro
from your favorite Jewelcrafter.
Another sophisticated option is
Cartola de Lorde Walden
, but it can only be obtained by worgen in their starting zone. However, the hat remains if you race-change. Hopefully,
Cartola da Alta Sociedade
will be implemented one day for the rest of us.
Demonstrate your knowledge of the arcane by scheduling a visit to the haberdasher with
Chameli Banaphash
. Decide between
Turbante Roxo
and
Chapéu Violeta
.
Óculos Rubi
is the ultimate luxury helm for your bank alt. Formerly sold by
Haris Pilton
in Shattrath, this periodically resurfaces on the AH for a hefty amount. Grab one to show everyone how wealthy you are. If you want the cheap knockoff, have an engineer make either
Óculos Autênticos do Engenheiro Jr.
for bonus flavor text or
Óculos Sombrios
,
Óculos de Tigre Voador
, or
Óculos Tintos de Verde
for the perfect tint. Unfortunately,
Óculos Escuros de Vidrilho
were never put into the game for extra blingee.
While
Burgy Cordisnero
may be a level 81 dancing ghost and pirate, his spoils,
Burgy Blackheart's Handsome Hat
, can be looted by everyone in the party—no matter the level. Use your connections to get a first-class summon to Vash’jir when a good friend or associate spots the mob. This item turns you into a spectral pirate gnome. If you prefer fishing to swimming, try your luck at the
in the hopes of getting
Acará-bandeira
to redeem into
Chapéu de Pescaria da Sorte
.
New to 4.1 is the
Coroa Manchada
, a BoE reward for completing
O pagamento final
.
Amulets
Amulets aren’t visible on a character, but a well-chosen amulet is a mark of a discerning toon. While Jewelcrafters can make several necks that are great for PvP twinks, they don’t have much personality.
Trambik
solves all your needs. Want to be better, stronger, faster?
Griftah
has the perfect tikbalang just for you, from
Colar de Sabão
to
Talismã de Rastreamento de Tesouros
.
Cordão de Dentes de Jacaré
is found in
Saco de Objetos Brilhantes
, a reward from the Cataclysm fishing dailies. Originally just a trash item, it’s been changed recently to be equippable.
A tip from commenter Yuoflim: make your voice heard with
Modulador de Amplificação de Voz
, made by engineers. It’s both stylish and practical!
Colar de Prata Manchada
has a 20% chance to be looted from
Cova Rasa
near
Mandingueiro Zum'rah
, the 3rd boss in
Zul'Farrak
. Perfect if your bank alt is an ‘antique dealer’ specializing in legacy items.
Medalhão de Transporte do Sectário do Crepúsculo
is an item used to summon Elemental Dukes in Silithus, which was part of an elaborate summoning system culminating in bosses that dropped raid-quality epics.
New to 4.1 is
Colar Dourado
, a reward from
A Shiny Reward
.
Shoulder
Unfortunately, you need to be at least level 15 to equip any pair of shoulders besides the BoAs. But let’s face it, many low-level shoulder models are uninspiring, unlike the epic models that keep growing larger and larger each tier.
One exception is
Dragonas do Festival do Fogo
, a reward from the
Festival do Fogo do Solstício
. Turning in 100
Flor de Fogo
nets you this flamboyant pair of shoulders.
Cloaks
Better off hidden. You’re best off using a BoA cape purchased from your main’s guild to show that your bank alt has wealthy benefactors.
Chest
Finding the perfect chestpiece is the most important part of dressing your bank alt. You’re only limited by your imagination and WoW’s required level on items! With the right accessories, even a
Veste Puída
can look amazing, but we’re going to focus on the items that take some effort to acquire.
Traje de Gala de Seribrasa Preto
is the luxury robe of Cataclysm. Costing a BoP
Orbe do Caos
to craft, befriend a tailor that enjoys heroics. It’s both scandalizing and classy at once. Mix and match with different shirts to change the look. Tailors can create several other BoE robes:
Vestido Preto Simples
,
Vestido Branco de Lã
,
Vestido de Noiva Branco
, and
Vestido Simples
.
Vestes de Seda Draenorianas
are sold by
Hakmud de Argus
, a Traveling Trader that rides around on
Rédeas do Mamute Túndrico do Viajante
. If you see someone mounted up, run over and buy it from him. Don’t tease
Modoru
like
Sentinela Dulcefonte
does; his grandmother’s robes are quite lovely.
There are several robes with unique models that drop from specific mobs in the starting zones—try collecting them all! They are
Vestes Violeta
,
Veste Teia de Aranha
,
Veste Nevada
,
Vestes do Iniciado Escarlate
, and
Veste Leve de Magífice
. There's reports that some are unavailable after Cataclysm, so play the AH just to be safe. We’ll include
Veste do Teurgo de Dalaran
as an honorary robe, even though it requires level 13, because it looks so awesome.
Traje da Enfermeira de Dalaran
has a similar purple tint.
By far the rarest chestpiece to acquire is the
Dangui Formal
sold by
Geenia Solumbra
in Moonglade. It’s rumored that it respawns every two months. In the meantime, you might get luckier with her other limited-supply robes:
Hanbok Verde de Casamento
and
Hanbok Tradicional Vermelho
.
Don’t want a robe? Consider one of the harnesses sold by
Kira
or
Sura Juba Agreste
, or
Colete Marrom de Linho
and
Jaqueta de Aykaramba
from tailoring.
Shirts
Shirts deserve their own post, but here’s a brief overview of the best tailoring and vendor picks.
Karandonna
, a stylish tribute NPC to Donna Karan, sells filigreed doublets and martial shirts in a variety of colors. They’re a bit pricey, but that’s the cost of exclusivity.
Another vendor in Dalaran,
Angelique Butler
, sells
Traje Encharcado de Antisséptico
and
Curativo
in the First-Aid building.
Broquel Garrouro
, the souvenir vendor at the Argent Tournament, sells shirts commemorating each participating race.
Elizabete Armarinho
is the only vendor in the game who sells
Camisa Amarelo-cheguei
and
Camisa Preta Estilosa
. Her last name means tailor in German.
Tailors are an excellent resource—they can make shirts in practically every color and style.
Camisa Luxuosa de Seda Roxa
, the color of epics, is from one of the rarest patterns in the game. There’s a series of
Workman
and
Lumberjack
shirts from uncommon Northrend patterns.
There’s also several shirts that are rare drops from mobs—
Camisa de Marujo
is one BoE that anyone cap equip.
Tabards
Tabards tend to spoil the effect of your carefully-planned outfit. Besides, your main wears enough tabards in heroics. However, there are a few interesting options.
Tabardo do Recruta
/
Tabardo do Batedor
only cost 50 honor to purchase and
Cores do Cavaleiro
/
Arauto do Guarda Pétreo
costs 100 honor. As a level 10, you can queue up for Battlegrounds to earn honor.
Tabardo de Batalha da Asa de Prata
/
Tabardo de Batalha do Brado Guerreiro
from Warsong Gulch and
Tabardo de Batalha dos Lançatroz
/
Tabardo de Batalha dos Lobo do Gelo
from Alterac Valley can be purchased with 2,000+ honor and have no rep requirement. In the past, honor on alts was easy to acquire with
Comenda de Invérnia
. However, with those removed, these tabards will take longer to acquire as they cost a good deal more than they used to.
Tabardo do Explorador
can easily be acquired by flying on a friend’s
Foguete de Passeio X-53
around Northrend.
Tabards such as
Tabardo de Orgrimmar
are also available from Quartermasters in capital cities with no rep requirement.
If your bank alt is a mage, they can equip the
Tabardo do Kirin Tor
from Dalaran since all mages start off friendly with the Kirin Tor.
Wrist
Bracers should be discreet and coordinating with your fabulous shirt or robe. Put
Poder Mágico
on your bracers for absurdity.
Pulseiras Antigas de Prata
are another rare reward from the
Bag of Fishing Treasures
. By far the best option for a sophisticated alt.
Embraces Aborígenes
are the rarest part of the
Aboriginal
set, for a vibrant theme.
Braçadeiras Fantasmagóricas
is a drop from a Tirisfal rare mob,
Espírito Atormentado
.
New to 4.1 are
Braceletes Cravejados de Gemas
from
A Shiny Reward
. These bracers are gold with green gems, very distinctive!
Hands
You aren’t a poor freezing clerk like Bob Cratchitt—ditch the gloves.
Luvas Revestidas de Cetim
sound luxurious, but instead show off your rings and bracelets.
Waist
While belts can be equally challenging to track down, they don’t look visually exciting. It’s not mandatory for your bank alt, but here’s some options if you must sacrifice fashion for completion.
Cinto de Tecido Esfarrapado
and
Cinto Trançado
are only sold by Horde vendors, so Alliance players may find it whimsical.
The Goblin starting zone features several vendors that sell unique items (in name, although perhaps not in looks).
Cinto de Tecido Encharcado
and
Cinto de Couro Encharcado
are exclusively sold by
Dona Xepa
.
Manou
sells
Cinto de Tricô Recuperado
.
Pants
If you’re wearing a robe, the style of your pants is unimportant. However, if you opted for a more modern shirt, the style of your pants (or kilt!) is very important.
Calças Simples de Linho
or
Calçotes de Solliden
make good blue jeans for a casual Friday look.
Pantalonas de Aykaramba
or
Calças de Smoking
from
Alfaiataria
give a more formal appearance.
A tip from commenter TKitch:
Tanga Rasgada de Ogro
may look like a Tarzan-esque loincloth, but it’s incredibly rare currently. It was looted from
as part of the Horde-only quest
Gordunni Cobalt
. Unfortunately, that quest is no longer around in Cataclysm, so watch the AH.
This guide mostly focuses on cloth, but
Kilt Primitivo
and
Kilt Primitivo
are striking leather kilts from Horde shaman starting-zone gear that look great with a harness.
Kilt Simples
is a versatile skirt from
Tailoring
that matches most any shirt.
Feet
Others may only see your toes peep out from under a robe, but it’s the effort that counts.
Several races have stylish boots as starter gear, such as
Botas do Recruta
, the default boots for several warrior races. Other boots can be enchanted with
Menor de Velocidade
which will shave off seconds of running!
A perennial favorite is
Sandálias Tricotadas
, available from select merchants.
Sapatos Sociais
are also an elegant alternative.
The truly dedicated will try to win the
Campeonato de Pesca dos Kalu'ak
and obtain
Botas da Angra
, boots with a built-in hearth to Booty Bay. Make sure you skill up your fishing first!
As a bonus, go sit down next to
Sheddle Vaigraxa
, the Dalaran cobbler. He’ll shine your shoes and buff you for the next hour with
Sapatos Brilhantes
, making your feet sparkle.
Rings
You need to show off your bling. Discreetly, as most rings have no visible effect upon your character. But you still need to flaunt it under the radar. Oh, and whatever you do, don’t buy
Anel de Zircônia Cúbica
and pretend it’s a
Sinete de Elemêntio do Nobre
--everyone will know the difference.
An easy bling fix comes from
Mileum Denteprata
, self-titled <Bling Merchant>. He sells the classic
Diamante Solitário Impecável
, the less romantic
Anel com Diamante Minúsculo
, the unromantic
Cubic Zirconia Ring
, the apologetic
Anel de Prata da Agasterne
, the flashy
A Pedra
, and apt
Anel dos Sentimentos
poking fun at xp color bars. Several other vendors stock these rings if Gappy won’t sell you bling.
To match your
Tarnished Silver Necklace
, get a
Anel de Prata Manchado
from
Caixote de Carne
, a reward for completing any of the Shattrath cooking dailies.
Curse yourself by equipping
O 1 Anel
, a very rare catch from fishing. Or take a traditional sentimental route with
Aliança de Ouro
, once again found in the
Bag of Fishing Treasures
from the Shattrath dailies.
Anel de Suserania do Sectário do Crepúsculo
only works for DK bank alts, but it's a very rare item from
Senhor do Crepúsculo Everun
, a rare mob in Silithus. Equipping this item allows you to bypass many of the elaborate steps in summoning lvl 60 raid bosses. However, the gear is obsolete, so you might as well keep it instead.
But the true mark of a bank alt connoisseur is found in the insanely expensive and limited wares of
Haris Pilton
.
Anel Dourado de Etérnio
costs 3000g and shows your eternal love for luxury. Or buy her two
Anel de Mindinho de Safira
s for a more youthful look. The most dedicated bank alt won’t think twice before buying the
Noble’s Elementium Signet
—it’s the only ring in the game currently that sparkles, plus with the right reputation, you can buy it from
Qixdi Pontobom
in Booty Bay for a discount, skipping Haris and her rude ghost friend
Ricole Nichie
. In 4.1, there is another visible ring option, but it's BoP and you need to be 85 to complete
A Shiny Reward
:
Black Ice
.
Trinkets
Trinkets are few, but obtaining any of these will demonstrate your bank alt is dedicated.
By studying
Engenharia
on the side, you’ll learn how to thwart mages and charm mechanicals in style.
Rebotocador Menor
is learned from a schematic sold by
Grampola
in Ratchet.
Controle Remoto Universal Gnômico
is learned from a schematic dropped by
Mecangenheiro Termaplugue
and also sold by
Cortarroda Rodagiros
and
Jinky Twizzlefixxit
.
A truly lucky fishing aficionado can use
Anzol do Pescador-mestre
, the ultimate reward from the
Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza
. Outpace the envious crowds on the street and swim to your destination. Commenter mostpop points out that since anyone can level fishing now, a bank alt should try to pick up the
Selo de Titânio de Dalaran
and
Rato Gigante de Esgoto
.
Show off your ruthlessness by farming up
Grande Mestre da Arena
at the Gurubashi Arena. Collect 12
Mestre da Arena
from the
Baú do Tesouro da Arena
which spawns every three hours. Pair it with
Insígnia da Aliança
/
Insígnia da Horda
for the low price of 55 honor (via Windyote).
Weapon
You wouldn’t want to start a fight and risk injury, but it’s good to look prepared with the right weapon. Besides mailing starting-zone weapons between alts, consider these more unconventional choices.
Raelis Aurestela
sells an assortment of common-quality weapons more interesting than your usual starter-zone fare:
Machado Arcano Forjado
,
Punhal Arcano Forjado
,
Maça Arcana Forjada
,
Espada Curta Arcana Forjada
,
Cajado Acumulador de Mana
, and
Arco Curto Teso
. Maybe fish up
Garrafa de Vinho Quebrada
from the Sludge Fen if things get ugly or get
Forcado Enferrujado
in the DK starter zone if trade chat is unruly.
Or, you can look so absurd, your enemies will be confused and flee. Use the following zone drops:
Pá do Fazendeiro
,
Vassoura do Fazendeiro
, or
Pá de Mineração Kobold
.
If all goes wrong, dazzle your enemies with
Bengala com Ponta de Diamante
, a common reward from fishing dailies. While it looks like a staff, it counts as a 1-hander so any class can equip it.
Off-hand Frills
Offhands bring whimsy and humor to even the most generic outfits. There’s wine glasses, flowers, fish, and more to choose from.
Viúva Moscatel
sells
Taça de Vinho
and
Taça de Vinho Tinto
to complement fine dining for any occasion.
Caneco Ornamentado para Beber
from the
Bag of Fishing Dailies
is good for more casual meals.
Lírio de Stratholme
is available from
Sofia Aaren
, a vendor in
Expurgo de Stratholme
. Make sure to visit her before starting the event. She also sells a variety of other bouquets common to florists in capital cities such as
Felicia Gump
.
Buquê de Rosas Pretas
is the most luxurious bouquet, but there’s a certain charm to
Flores Silvestres Simples
as well.
Flor de Negraluna
is a carnival offhand available from
5 Cupons – Flor de Negraluna
, for when your bank alt feels like supporting the wild side.
Send those rare offhand fish you’ve caught on your main for
História verdadeira de pescador
to your bank alt. Or try fishing up
Velho Pilantra
or
Velho Ferroqueixo
near the AH.
Faiscante Azul
,
Faiscante Vermelho
, and
Faiscante Branco
are only available from special NPCs with the <Holiday Fireworks Vendor> tag on July 4th on US realms and September 30th on EU realms.
Like the
Ruby Shades
, there are several vanity off-hand frills no longer available from Shattrath vendors. Back when
Griftah
was briefly exiled from the Lower City for selling dubious wares, he sold
Lilás de Terokkar
and
Vareta de Cutucar de Qualidade
complete with snarky flavor text. Keep an eye out for these on the AH.
Holidays
There are so many vanity items from holidays, it deserves its own section. Sadly, not all items are obtainable by low-level toons, but most are! While many max level players are tired of the same-old holidays, completing quests on a low-level toon is a fresh and challenging approach. Have a warlock friend or someone from your main's guild grouped in party for
to speed things up and instantly arrive at your location (via glyneth). As usual, mix and match for the most stylish result. Remember, if it’s hard-to-obtain, it’s good.
Festival da Lua
Valadar Stelacanto
sells several festive robes and pantsuits, for the cost of five
Moeda dos Ancestrais
. To an 85, it’s not very exciting, but your level 10 will need many summons or a good deal of time spent running to collect them all.
Vestido do Festival
and
Roupa do Festival
are the BoE option crafted by tailors.
O Amor Está No Ar
Vestido Preto Encantador
, once very rare, is now the ubiquitous dress from this holiday. It’s stunning, but along with the other rewards from
Linda Caixa de Vestidos
and
Caixa de Trajes Esporte Fino
, perhaps too common for the discerning banker.
Jardinova
is the perfect achievement for your bank alt. It can be completed by even a level 1, and what better title to denote generations of wealth than <the Noble>?
Vestes Primaveris
and
Vestido Elegante
are striking robes,
Diadema Orelhudo
is silly and overdone,
Cesta de Ovos
has a unique graphic, and
Flores Primaveris
is the only bouquet of flowers that can actually be equippable as a main-hand.
Festival do Fogo do Solstício
Midsummer offers a fun holiday set: the
Mantle of the Fire Festival
as highlighted earlier,
Traje de Verão
, and
Sandálias de Verão
with a fun use. This set takes many
Burning Blossoms
to complete, so be diligent!
For the truly diabolic, sneak (or get summoned) into enemy cities and steal their flames to obtain the angelic
Coroa do Festival do Fogo
from
A recompensa de um ladrão
.
CervaFest
Paramentos da CervaFest
series shows you’re not just any uptight banker. Redeem
Ficha-prêmio da CervaFest
from dailies to collect both sets.
While you’re sampling some brews, remember to pick up your stein of the year.
Óculos Catalisadores de Emoções Românticas Via Alcoolismo da Bebel
/
Óculos de Romance Extremo e Violento do Blix
give you the buff
Óculos Cervejeiros
. Everyone turns into male gnomes/tauren, some in quite revealing gear. Perhaps save these for when you aren’t calculating finances.
Noturnália
Don’t forget to trick-or-treat every hour at your favorite inn to have a chance at getting
Elmo Assombrado
. Most of the disguises are temporary, but surely as a clever bank alt, you can create your own original costume instead of relying on a premade one.
Dia dos Mortos
This is a short and minor holiday, but
Buquê de Cravos-de-defunto Laranja
is a vibrant offhand, especially when paired with the similar
Spring Flowers
for dual-wielding bouquets.
Festa da Fartura
Give thanks for your yearly profits in Azeroth. Provide the catering for the holiday NPCs and receive the following apparel in return:
Chapéu do Peregrino
,
Vestuário do Peregrino
,
Roupa do Peregrino
,
Veste do Peregrino
, and
Botas do Peregrino
.
Festa do Véu de Inverno
The
Trajes de Inverno
is campy and festive, but may require many world kills to obtain the hats, which are only guaranteed drops from several high-level bosses. Still, what else are you going to do when the banks are closed on holiday? Consider obtaining the winter clothes that are taught by the opposite faction.
Armor Vendors
If your bank alt has decided to sponsor a particular clothing brand and refuses to wear anything else, here are some unique armor sets and NPCs with allstar offerings.
There are several common-quality sets unique to a faction.
Jainthess Thelryn
is the only vendor who sells the
Light Cloth
and
Sun Cured
sets for a traditional blood-elf look.
Sally "Salvager" Sandscrew <Slightly Damp Salvage>
sells
Waterlogged Cloth
and
Drenched Leather
sets and
Chawg
sells
Recovered Knit
,
Salvaged Chain
, and
Water-Stained Leather
sets in the Goblin areas.
Woven
,
Battered Leather
,
Dirty Leather
, and
Tattered Cloth
sets are unique to Horde clothiers in a variety of both major and minor cities. For the alliance, the
Cracked
and
Thin Cloth
sets are unique. Vendors of both factions sell the
Knitted
,
Rough Leather
, and
Light Mail Armor
sets.
Rique "Luaprata"
found in Howling Fjord sells select blood-elf starting gear.
Thomas Yance
patrols around
Antigo Contraforte de Eira dos Montes
and sells starting gear for several races.
Olívia Azambuja
and other robe vendors sell distinctive robes such as
Veste Simples
and
Vestes de Costura Dupla
.
