Activision Blizzard Donates $1.6 Million to Charities on Behalf of Employees

Last month, Activision Blizzard began their
Holiday Giving Initiative
, in which each employee was given $200 to donate to a charity of their choice. With more than 8,000 participants across Activision Blizzard, Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment, and King, the company announced today more than than $1.6 million donated across 3,211 different charities!

From developing pathways for veterans' employment to fighting racial inequality to supporting pivotal healthcare programs, we are committed to making a difference. We believe that we can truly connect and engage the world in ways that no other company can, with purpose and meaning. We continue to be grateful for so many of you who share our commitment to change the world in lasting ways.
We want to honor the past year of giving with one more philanthropic endeavor for this unique year when people are in need more than ever: we are contributing company funds as well as reallocating funds that were earmarked for year-end company events towards an Activision Blizzard Holiday Giving Initiative.” - Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard
This follows
last June's combined $3 million in contributions
from Activision Blizzard and CEO Bobby Kotick to the United Negro College Fund, the Equal Justice Initiative, and the Management Leadership for Tomorrow. A number of employees on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter shared their reaction and charity of choice.
