Still quite useful for filling in your new set of Mail armor for Shamans and Hunters at level 40. Decently cheap to make, difficult part is finding a because the recipe is a Limited Supply from a vendor.

Its usually easier to just camp "George Candarte" for the recipe yourself. He is located in Hillsbrad Foothills on the WEST side of the wall bordering Arathi Highlands. Look to the north corner, he's hard to see until you are right near him, he's behind a tree.

I used this chest from lvl 31 to lvl 40, until I found better. Pretty awesome chest for those levels.
Only bad thing i found from it is the look of it, but thats only a matter of opinions. =P

The Green Iron Hauberk is, without doubt, one of the very best mid-range pieces of mail chest armor out there. It's not terribly common in the AH due to the cost of the materials involved, but there is considerable demand for it. Most warriors and paladins simply don't need to look at another piece of chest armor until they hit 40. It's not uncommon to see Hunters and Shamans in their 40's wearing it, either.

What makes it so good? Well, the stat bonuses are pretty hefty, but what really pushes it over the top is the 358 armor. This is a number that nearly approaches low-level plate protection.

On a related note, the Green Iron armor set looks quite distinctive when worn as a complete set. You WILL stand out in a crowd, which is saying something for a mid-level armor set. Unfortunately the pieces lose all of their appeal when worn individually; they just don't seem to go with anything else but each other.

Geez this armor kicks ass. This thing makes some level 60 mail cry. Definately worth getting, especially if you have a blacksmith guildy. From 24 until your 40's you really only need to buy 2 pieces of chest mail, the shining silver breastplate and this.
Speaking as a warrior, you can keep this thing NO PROBLEM until you find some decent plate, son't be afraid to keep it until 41, 42 even. It's better than buying some cruddy plate just to have a plate set. There's no rush when your wearing this. Too bad its kind of ugly. When you put it on, think that at least its not as bad as the heavy lamellar set ...

The Leather armour component for the green iron coat of mail can be got for around 50s if you establish a relationship with an unguilded leather worker. Advertise, set up a consignment order, pay COD and keep the relationship going.

Tips for Struggling Warriors
- Don't beg, but know how to ask for help. State what you need on a channel and the limits of your means or what you can do to assist.
- When you find someone generous, don't pester them - they are giving up time. Send a letter if you have too many questions and they will help you when they can.
- Heavy discounts can be had for perfect manners, gentile behaviour or good role-playing.
- know-it-alls get to delight in their own company and kiss the smiths anvil. If you don't like the price, just say no thankyou, rather than setting fire to bridges.

Can anyone make this chest peice or shoulders on the Archimonde realm server? I think the the prices in AH are a buinch of BS i see it going for about 9-15gold it pisses me off but yeh could someone do it for me for about 5 or 6 gold? ill try finding mats and yeh if i dont just tell me the price and thx whisper me on Aurastrike please and thank you :D

Meh making this is cheap. The leather armour I can get for 1g.

The 20 bars are easy enough... worth 3g max

Stones r worthless i always get em, and as for the 2 jade and moss agate required if im unlucky enough to not get these mining the iron, i can buy for 2g for the lot easy.

That's basically 6gold, and i can always sell for at least 10. Pity it looks crap with my other random items... this green and yellow eyesore lol

this armor goes from 5-10g in AH on severs ive played on. i had it on one of my lvl 30 warriors and i payed 6g on buyout. for the stats and armor of this chestpiece i think up to 10g is well worth it for any warrior and i advise anyone able to buy it in the lvl 30-39 range to buy

this is an awseome chest piece for any mid ranged lvl warrior between lvl 30-40 the other pieces of the green iron set aren't tht rly great of armour but this one is definately the best.....all in all this is one of if not thee best chest piece between the lvls 30-40 for any warrior

All Items needed for the 'Green Iron' 'Set' ( I know its not a 'real' WoW set.)

With levels on the pieces ranging from 25 to 31 I dont see many people that will actually use this ingame as a whole set. (unless for looks) I wish they would make all the armour bits for these 'Pseudo-sets' the same level. Or even just 1-2 levels appart.

It's a fine piece of armor I'm a 45 shammy and I wear it although mixed with the Scarlet Crusade Armor I wear I look like someone who stepped out of the local Chrismas Decorative Shop lol!

I buy the mats for 6 or 7g, then sell the chest for 12-14g. Always sells. The Shining Silver Breastplate is also a good low lvl money maker.

For Horde side, the plans are in Org at the artisan trainer inside the Valley of Strength. Go straight in and you will hit a fork, where the mining trainer is. Go right and continue all the way to the back of the cove. Then inside the building, there are 2 merchants and the Artisan trainer. Hope this helps.

Every warrior should crave one of these once they reach the required level. You won't find anything better until the low 40s unless you're very lucky with your drops.

Even when I got a good plate chest piece at level 42, it was only marginally better than this hauberk.

The shoulders and helm are also very good and I used them until I got plate, save for a Barbaric something Helm that dropped in SM.

Even as a 260 blacksmith I still make and sell 2 or 3 of these a week. Great cash cow. Instead of flying places I just ride, dismount and mine up the iron in lower level areas to get the iron. Constantly checking AH for Moss Agate and Jade, every time I'm there and snag it when it is at a low price.

I think I saw it on What Not To Wear the other day. Some warrior or paladin refused to throw it away though, despite the protestations of Clinton and Stacey. "Not until I can get plate", he said.

Yes, it's very ugly, especially the chest - but it is one of the very best (if not the best) armors for its level :P You can learn it from the artisan trainer in Ironforge if I'm not completely mistaken.

This armor was the soul reason I had 90 G by the time I hit 40. Wait until 35+ when you're in areas with alot of iron and alot of times jade and the other stone will drop often enough where you won't have to buy much. As for the green leather, find a guild mate that can craft it. What I did. Bought it from him for 1 g a piece. Craft, throw up for 7-10 g a pop and you have a nice income. I crafted like 6-8 of these in a matter of 2 weeks. Anyways. Good luck!

Aye, you can learn it when you have 180 skill in blacksmithing from the Artisan Trainer in Ironforge.

The mats to make this thing are rediculous, then again, this is one shweet piece of armor. i've been trying to aquire the mats since lvl 30, now i'm level 31 and ONE IRON BAR SHORT! i blew all my gold in AH buying out that leather armor for 1.3g, those jades for 1.7g, luckily had the agates and the stones already. It just irks me that after all my mining and gathering, i come up one stinkin bar short

I made the whole set when i was lvl 31, now im a lvl 225+ smith, and a lvl 43 and im still wearing that hauberk, just havnt come across anything better. and trust me ive been looking!

"Green Iron Set" is best thing what you bought, as "Shining silver bresatplate" is MUST for warior in early 20, this set is MUST for warior in 30s, better stuf can be aquired only in instances (maybe).

...this pattern is a cinch. Learning the Green Leather Armor pattern that creates the Green Leather Armor which is one of the mats for this pattern though, now that is hard. The pattern vendors are in hard-to-reach locations for anyone that would find Green leather Armor useful. So expect to get dinged for at least a gold for the GLA.

And God, yes, hide this hideous crap under a tabard! Or just stick to your Fire-Hardened Hauberk or Brutal Hauberk. The rage proc makes up for the difference in stats (but not armor, 140 is a lot) , IMHO, especially when you throw in that it doesn't look like Walt Disney puked on it.

You can learn this from the Artisan trainer in Orgimmar, or the Artisan trainer in Ironforge. In addition, the Master trainer in Booty Bay (available to both factions) will have it (if you somehow missed getting it at 180 blacksmithing) - so if you are closer to him and want to learn it, you can get it from him as well.
