For Mages, these are generally better than the Tier 1 Arcanist gloves (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=16801) - compared to Arcanist, you're sacrificing 4 stam, 5 int, 7 FR, and 4 mana/5 seconds for 5 spell damage and +1 hit. At least for PvE raiding, I'd make that trade any day unless you're up against the +hit cap.

These gloves might come close to be the best gloves in the game for mages andwarlocks...

They have very nice stats with a decent spelldmg plus and even 1% point additional crit chance. Wow - simply awesome. The set gloves do not come close even if the defense is higher...

As a lvl 60 mage or warlock spelldmg is the way to go. Only in boss fights where a great source of mana is needed (Ragnaros, BWL) - only the tier 2 set gloves are more usefull due to the larger mana pool they are offering in combination with stamina and almost the same plus of spelldmg and crit chance.

With the new glove enchants (+ specific spelldmg) these gloves will be epic (they almost are already in my eyes).

This amazing item drops of Jin'do the Hexxer. Jin'Do is the seventh boss of Zul'Gurub and is known as the "Hexxer". Jin'Do is located next to a pit filled with skeletons at the later portion of the Instance.The guide for killing him, and claiming your phat lewt can be found here:

Don't forget locks, this thing would be awesome for locks. Not as good as felcloth gloves though but better stats and the hit is nice.
