um, Anyone who thinks this should go to a warrior for tanking reasons needs to be slapped.

This is not a shield. In case you didnt notice Shields offer alot more armor + block. This is IMO a druid mace. next come Pallys/Shammys who make better tanks usin 2h for more damage. Pallys dont have taunts so they are more effective tanks with a 2h weapon. At least for aggro control. "Tanking" isnt about the most armor its a mix of it all. A Warrior should never tank with a 2h weapon unless the group is just that good... You wont ever see a MT using this against any boss in UBRS or above.

Warrior tank weapon.... Noob.

someone said this is good for a warrior. it's terrible for a warrior. A protection warrior would tank with a one hander and a shield, never a 2 hander. A MS warrior goes for low speed, and high base damage for the instant attacks. This weapon would be useful in a druid's hands. However, i have found it to be useful in 5 man instances as a pally... for example, in DM north, when pallys need to offtank, with this weapon they wouldn't sacrafice dps, and it has good tanking stats.

I'm just waiting for the last person to come for my 26th run.

26 and no mace, I guess for every person that gets it their first run, there is one who has to wait. Still I can't believe how shy this mace is being, I think I could to a tribute run in my sleep.

And just for the record, feral druid, Warden Staffs are running over 400g on my server.

the thing about the warden staff. it is better but harder to get. and you you who are trying to get it, when you have done DM 100 times you can buy a warden staff instead. And when you have done DM 100 times you can get to lev 70 and you dont need this anymore. Just grind at SM or something and buy some $%^&, or get exalted with AV and buy mace there. I did last tho i didnt grind much, i got a nice roll on a orb and got 50g, then i did two more runs and i won like 80% of stuff i rolled on. got enugh money for mace and woha! i kick but! thanks to WoW letting me get good rolls all time. ;D

This mace is MARGINALLY worse than the Warden Staff. It's such a small difference that it might as well not exist. It all depends on how you plan to go about getting it. For myself, I find grinding SM Cathedral fairly relaxing, and my luck on free rolls is pretty bad. So I'm after a Warden Staff, figuring that the one time one of these would drop for me, I'd get outrolled by a Resto druid or something. (That, and I love seeing all the purple on my character sheet.) ;) If you're willing to trust your luck, definitely run Tribute a bunch. Either of these will be amazing Feral tanking weapons - I'm not sure there's even anything better in AQ.

If you are a druid, you can use the following checklist to obtain good items that give +armor (or that simply have good armor themselves)for bear form. I hope this list is useful. Keep in mind that even if you are Restoration specced, it is definitely worthwhile to get a seperate set that gives +armor.

1.The first item that you can get is the Band of the Great Tortoise. Obtain this ring by completing an easy quest in Tanaris (obtained in the Northern parts of the Thistleshrub Valley). It is called Tooga's Quest (find it on Thottbot for more information.
2.There are two leather armor sets that give a set bonus of +200 armor when only two of the set pieces are equiped. This is extremely useful in bear form. The sets are Shadowcraft and Wildheart. Get the Shadowcraft Tunic (drops from General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire) and the Shadowcraft Boots (drops from Rattlegore in Scholomance). Also get the Wildheart Gloves (random drop in Blackrock Spire-you may want to just buy it)and the Wildheart Bracers (also a random drop, but in Stratholme. Again, it may be easier to buy this instead of farming it). These four pieces will give a total of 400 additional armor (add that to the armor that the items themselves give).
3.To obtain a weapon that gives armor, do the Gordok Tribute in Zul'Gurub and get the Unyielding Maul.
4.Get the Cloak of Warding, which can be made with Leatherworking or bought. Get someone to put a +70 armor enchant on it.
5.Join or start a Lower Blackrock Spire group and kill Overlord Wyrmthalak. He will drop General Drakkisath's Command, a quest item. Click on it to begin a quest to kill General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire. As a quest reward for killing Drakkisath, you will get the Mark of Tyranny, an armor trinket.
6.Complete the long chain quest that leads to the Battle of Darrowshire quest in the Eastern Plaguelands (find the quest on Thottbot for more information). As a quest reward, you will be able to get your other armor ring-the Ring of Protection.
7. You will then need to kill High Priestess Jeklik in Zul'Gurub to get the Animist's Spaulders, which themselves have very high armor.
8.Kill Ayamiss the Hunter in Ahn'Quiraj to get the Helm of Regrowth.
9.Kill Bloodlord Mandokir in Zul'Gurub to get the Animist's Leggings.
10.Kill Quartermaster Zigris in Blackrock Spire to get the Cloudrunner Girdle.
11.Now, if you want to learn Enchanting, you can make the Smoking Heart of the Mountain (an armor trinket). You will have to be the one who made it in order to use it.

There are some epics that have more armor than some of those things, but these are easier to get.

Dropped on my frist run and yes im a feral druid. Gives me just over 1k extra armor in bear form

I got the mace tonight, after 3 or 4 run.

(now I have 9000 armor with no epics... and I am still working on some items, like the cloudrunner girtle)

Also, I am still unsure about the enchant: +15 str to increase the dps therefore generate more aggro or +25 Agil to have more AC, more dodges and more crits (not much more , but still...)

The thing about the multiplyer for Bear is that the Agi does not convert nor does the Armor Enchant to the cloak. Trinkets and Rings do Convert. I currently have the PVP Champion Set and the Smoking Heart of the Mountain and a few odd pieces from WSG and AB faction rep, and the Warden Staff. With all this said and only the Warden Staff as a Purple I have 10125 Armor. Through in some of the AV pieces and 16k is well with in reach. Druids Need this Mace or the Warden Staff.

I understand the limit (pre-Naxx) is 17006. Need to find it, but there is a CT Profile which shows the gear that you need to get there....

I have the Champion's PVP set, feralheart bracers, Sargeant's Cloak, and the Defiler's Will set (shoulders, belt, and boots). I have the ironbark staff, and no armor on my rings, but I do have Mark of Tyranny with 180 armor. My total armor with MoTW and thick hide talent is just over 10K.

If I could get this and a cloak of warding It would put me over 11K. Add Thralls resolve (ring with 150 armor) and I'm over 12K with mostly blue. Add some more epics, or get to warlord and my total armor should approach 15K.

The bottom line, I'm going to be spending time in DM looking for this.

lol got this of my first tribute run ever got out rolled on barbarous blade by anouther ms warrior (howl of fustration) i feel sooooo cheated.

however not a bad weapon at first glance wandering if any warriors tried it out tho ?

This ^&*!er NEVER drops! I've been grinding that damn Tribute run so much that there's a grove along the ground from entrance to the damn King. Never drops. BB however drops alot. WTF is up with that?

UPGRADE?

Downgrade dude. 10 less AC (ends up being 45), 3 less defense, and only 1 more stam than warden staff. 1 stam is so not worth it. And the damage doesn't matter either in bear form =/

vn for a feral druid who doesn't have the warden staff though, I'd do runs to get it if I didn't have warden :P

Awesome Feral mace for an Offtank. I met a Feral Druid who offtanked as Emergency for the Kurinax fight in AQ20. He said had he not had this mace, he probably would've been screwed. Two Warriors had dropped, and he was able to throw this on and Jump in as an Offtank while the only warrior still up lost his Debuffs. After the MT took over again, he Battle Ressed another Warrior,a dn they finished off. He said this mace is one of the Best and easily tangible Feral Tank Maces available to casual players.

I'd rather this over the overpriced Warden Staff anyday.
Similar stats, tiny bit more more stamina and the loss of defense is minimal and not as useful for Druid's anyway. PLUS it's free :P

This is the best feral tank weapon in the game because you can apply Contrapeso de Ferro to it, despite what the tool tip says it does increase your speed in bear form. Only when the 25 2H Agility enchant comes out does Warden Staff become slightly better.
