I dont belive this is castor armor. Including the shammy. https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=19544/lâmina-do-batedor with this this armor might be the hardest hitting ranged weapon. 100 + 4 + 34 would be the max this would hit for. (listed dmg) I have been unable to find anyone on my server available to make this so i dont know what this would be after arrow/defense/atk mods.

And this armor sucks. I am very disappointed that Armorsmiths cannot make jack !@#$ until we get 300 =(. There needs to be more Armorsmith recipes with stuff that is actually USEFUL (What I mean is NOT Thorium Bracers, No warrior wants freakin resistances over str + stam, and the rest of that Thorium junk) If you look on Blacksmithing under professions your gonna see a ton of Weaponsmith things that are actually useful! That's all.

I picked up the plans for 75s. Glad I got them so cheap sense the armor is so useless.

The armor is made for shaman, since any hunter with a brainstem would rather have +att power/crit for an equip bonus, and +agi for the primary stat on the mail.

And Armorsmiths shouldn't complain, since at least their profession pays off eventually. Whereas weaponsmithing never exceeds the effort or materials cost, for profitability.

At honored reputation with the thorium brotherhood, for example - there are several blue plans available to a weaponsmith - of which he can only learn one, depending on whether he is axe/mace/sword specialized. I believe three epicplans are available to an armorsmith at this same level of reputation - all of which are insanely easier to make materials-wise, superior in quality and therefore more profitable to make. And you can learn all three instead of just one. Armorsmiths can save their complaining for another day methinks, until blizzard does something about this ;)

Look, this armor is by no means what you should be going to BG with at 60, but it's pretty good for rare mail. Especially when you consider that you can be using it a lv 49. An elemental Shaman wants the plus to nature damage before any other stat so he can pile it on with chain lightning. Anyone who knocks this armor because it's useless for a hunter needs to look at themselves in the mirror and say "duh". It's supposed to be useless for a hunter. Also, any elem Shammy who thinks plus damage gear is crappy needs to likewise look themselves in the mirror and say "duh". The mats are so easy to come by, Living Essences drop like mad. They're even cheap if you get them at AH depending on server. You'll spend less on this than any other rare chestpiece of the same level.

Alot of shamans will pay good for this. Finding the mats isn't that hard for this. After about an hour of grinding Tar Lords and Lurkers in Un'goro you can come up with 3-4 living essence. Also there is a good supply of thorium veins in Un'goro. I normally get 50 to 70 gold in Auction House for this, considering thats what normally the mats will cost you if you buy them from the AH. If you spend a little time farming you can make decent money off of these, especially on horde side.

I can make this on Medivh, Alliance side....just message Venomstrker. Free with your mats! If not its gonna be alot more expensive cause Living Essences go for like 15g on medivh....its insane!

If you want to be specific I think hunter's can actually benefit from the nature dmg with their viper sting.

Best damage stats for an elemental shaman, no doubt. However quite a big bite of your mana pool as it has a horrible 0 int.
For dungeouns and short fights, I agree this is BiS.
However for fights lasting more than a minute, like Ragnaros, the Chestplate of Tranquility which drops from Prince in DM West with +20 int is better.
