This is a pretty good wand for a fire mage. Wands with crit are almost impossible to find, so this is the next best thing.

The boss who drops this can be found above and north of the arena. Comes with two adds, both of which can be sheeped, sapped, etc. If you're a mage and looking for a good damage wand, grab some invisibility pots off the AH and head down to BRD. You can reach this boss without fighting any other mobs like so: (note you must be 60)

1. Enter BRD
2. Open the door on your left, then on your right, and then your left again.
3. Go up the stairs to your right, avoiding fire elemental patrols (you can take one if you agro it)
4. Go up the stairs straight ahead that lead to above the arena.
5. VERY IMPORTANT: run straight to the barrier that prevents you from dropping down into the arena, and hold onto it for dear life as you walk to the other side of the arena, or else you will agro like 5 mobs.
6. When you reach the other side, wait for the fire elemental to patrol away from the boss. Chug an invis pot and run (DO NOT BLINK, it breaks invis) to your right. You should have plenty of time to reach an area that is out of the agro range of both the boss and the 6 mob group near him.
7. Load up Dampen Magic, Mage Armor, and Fire Ward. Sheep one of the mobs that isn't the boss, and focus on taking the boss down quick. The boss was originally just a rarespawn mob, so he has about the same HP as other elites his level. Then kill the unsheeped mob (use frost ward). Bandage if necessary, then kill the other mob in a similar fashion.
8. Loot: The boss drops:
This wand.
A fire resist staff that vendors for like 4g.
A leather robe that vendors for like 1g.
Formula: Enchant Weapon: Fiery (fairly often, at least a couple G on the AH)

Well worth the effort, IMO.

I cant remember where the guy spawns, but i got it last night, on my first run of BRD ever. At first i thought i taws a stuff and was like "WTF that sux" then i saw it was a wand and took it happily, i was the only wand user there. =D

With the key, this is a really easy grind. Depending on your gear and class, this can be solo'ed or 2 manned (did 2 man last night) I did it with both a warrior and a mage, so no stealthing here :P

Open the 3 doors with the key and run up to the arena. There are 2 fire elemental pats, but they are easibly dodgeable. Sneak around the arena (cannot do this unless 60, you need to hug the inside wall all the way around) and you should be faceing a grp of 5-6 guys, 1-3 are elite. Wait for the Firelord to pass going left (he will go over the bridge to give you time) and procede to kill the elites first, but watch for runners!

With this grp down, kill the Firlord pat, then turn right. Another grp like the first grp should be there. Once they are down, nothing should be between you and the Pyromancer.

He has 2 elite bodyguards, but they arnt hard hitters if you have enough resist. Grab an arcane resist and fire resist potion and you should be golden. Once he and his guards are down, grats on your loot.

I did this last night with a hunter and myself (warrior), then again as my mage. GL, enjoy!

im a 50 fire mage and need a better wand caues i use my wand more than most mages reply to me and tell me when its good to try to do this instance
