where du i get this? does it drop somewhere? random by jewelcrafting daily? some npc i still not found?

Believe it's a random quest drop item from mobs once you get Jewelcrafting skill 475. Seems to drop more frequent in dungeons like Stonecore.

I had three of these quests... broken earth figurine, broken owl, and the boar.

I turned in the Boar quest. But after, I was not able to turn in the others even though i had all the mats. and level 500 JC. Anyone else had this problem?

This just dropped for me in Vash, near Sira'kess Front, while working the quests in that area:

It dropped off a Merciless One who was with one of the naga. I'd just hit JC 475 about 30 minutes earlier, too. :) That's the Abyssal Depths zone on the map, btw.

Hope that helps other JC's out there. If you're a tank, this is a handy trinket to have on you. As I'm DPS/healing, not so much. LOL But it's also decent XP for JC's.

The quest tracker only listed the Obsidium and Elementium requirements and flagged the quest as completed once I smelted them, but wouldn't let me complete. Make sure you get the Volatile Earth as well if this happens to you.

Can confirm today 14th December, got it from Nagas in Twillight Highlands outside Highbank.
I'm 85 and 490 JC.

However I did have a friend in my group with no JC and being 84 (some rumours it works with grouping with someone if it won't drop)

after many days of trying to figure out how to get this and reading the above comment about it being bugged for lv85's i submitted a ticket.
24 hours later ticket gets escalated, around 2 hours after that myself and 3 guildies find these randomly drop 2 of us while doing tol barad dailies and one while killing elementals in twilight highlands.

so the information that the quest starts in deepholm is not true and it infact looks like a random world drop

I received all 4 JC quest items farming Jaspertip Swarmers in Deepholm. After the fix all 4 dropped in short order for me, something like 15 or 20 minutes. The Earthen Figurine was the last to drop though. lvl 85, 500 JC

Just found This one and Broken Boar Figurine, both within 30 minutes, and both in Tol Barad working on the dailies. I have JC 503 and I am level 85. I have not turned any of them in however. I came here to see if you get any skill up or anything else than just the item, however this trinket is really nice for a tank like me so I will turn it in now.

Confirmed working @ 85! I am lvl 85 with over 475 JC and was able to get the Broken Earthen Figurine tank quest pattern to drop for me a minute ago farming by myself.

What I found worked best was in Deepholm directly west of the Temple of Earth there is a large amount of Jaspertip Swarmers. They die very quickly, frequently re-spawn and travel in packs so you can kill a large number of them in a short time.

If you are a low level you can try to attack them beside a 'Son of Kor' that wander around in that area and they will kill them for you, just tag them and you still get loot from them.

How do you fix the item? Clicking the item just tells me that I'm already on the quest.

The tank and str dps quests both dropped for me while doing dailies in deepholm.
Both dropped from the giants near the mushrooms daily.
2 giants in a row dropped them.

I have gotten all but the tanking Figurine its making me insane and I'm a tank so i need this trinket grand total of 5 trinkets ive counted 2 healing 2 dps and 1 tanking

1 dps is for Rogues,Shamans, and Druids Agility 1425 12secs
another dps is for Pally, Warrior, and DK strength 1425 12secs

the healing ones both have 285 int
the Owl 1425 spirit
the Snake 1425 spell power
both for 12secs

I got stuck with having the mats but the friggin trinket wasnt repaired. I abandoned the quest, re accepted it and bam, completed and trinket got fixed

I got mine doing some random quests in Uldum that I've to kill mobs. So I think its reeeeally a world drop, not only in Deepholm.

I received the quest for the recipe (I got a broken figurine) after killing 7 (yes, only 7) ghost things in tol barad for a daily. I reached JC 475 like 10 minutes earlier and ported to do dailies to see if it would drop. So I would suggest doing the dailies and it will drop very easily, if it doesn't then you are one unlucky person.

correction, I got the panther figurine, then about 10 minutes later the serpent dropped, so only time can tell when I'll get the one I need. sigh

I had this drop for me yesterday. I am 515 JC level 85. I was doing the dailies in Tol Barad when it dropped. I also had the melee dps one drop a few days ago doing the dailies.

Quest dropped in Uldum, after making sure i had the correct number of mats, i managed to get this completed, after playing around with it for a few times.

This dropped for me on a PTR. Dropped in Tol Barad peninsula off of a Ghastly Scavenger.

If you're having trouble completing this quest, try disabling any quest addons you may have. In my case it was QuestGuru that was interfering.

Does anybody know a way to re-do this quest, I sold the trinket thinking I wouldn't use it anymore. But now I could use it really good :P

I had this problem and contacted a GM. It took a while and the first 2 GM's didn't understand anything - luckily the third GM response understood what was going on:

I am really sorry to hear that you're having this problem, but sadly if you have looted these items and vendored them a long time ago, we are not able to verify them, due to the data not being stored for such an extended period of time. Fortunately if you have not got the items in your bags or learned the recipe then the items should eventually drop for you again :)

However... next time Blizzard makes trinkets for jewelcrafting, it would be appreciated if they made it a recipe, and NOT just a frigging quest reward...

Bugged for level 81 as well got all the stuff wont complete I disabled all the add-ons and still nothing just will not complete. I even abandoned and the quest came back after a while still wont complete :(

Make sure when trying to complete this you actually have all the mats in your bags. In the quest tracker itself, it showed me as having the items but it would not complete. I looked through my bags and realized the volatile earth was in my bank.
