A very simple, humorous quest. The prospector walks around the perimeter of the dig site and makes a few funny comments before returning to the camp you started from.

The only mobs that are fought are the murloc lining the wreckage of the dig.

However, I failed this quest once -- when walking around, near the Master's Glaive, he aggroed a "Spawn of Soggoth" and it was not visible to me. I was certain it was a phasing error, and it was -- later on there is a phased quest in the Master's Glaive. If he aggros this, just run forward into the Master's Glaive, and hopefully it will be visible. It didn't happen the second time, so it may or may not be rare.

This quest would not be hard for someone at level.

I had the same error when he suddenly aggroed something I could not see. He stood there swinging away at nothing until he died. >_< Had to drop the quest and pick it up again.

It would appear that in order to successfully complete this quest, you not only have to finish the quests in the grove, but also the other quests in his camp. One of the quests in the camp actually sends you back to the grove, and another summons Birdfurion Squakrage to tell you to go save Darkshore while he saves Hyjal. On returning to the Master's Glaive at Birdfurion's bidding, my fiancee and I noticed that the prospector, still raid marked and buffed with his fort and my kings, was now battling a visible enemy, although we'd both abandoned the quest several full minutes earlier.

As of today this quest is still bugged when the guy gets aggroed by an invisble mob you cant hit, i tried doing all the quests from the grove and doing it again but still gets bugged out. so far im now at 87/90 quests so cant get achievement. :(
And according to twilytgardnfaery's post above the said "Birdfurion Squakrage" never appeared for me so i cant get that quest either. :(

I ended up finishing all the quests in Darkshore except one...THIS one....and the Spawns in the Glaive aren't visible so he continues to get attacked and die.

In order to complete this quest, you must complete the quest The Offering to Azshara. I just finished this quest a few minutes ago, after 3 tries.

Ran this quest yesterday, and no longer appears bugged. I really enjoyed his dialog too, as he constantly proclaims surprise at "discovering" things that he already found, and finally going around in a big circle to return to his original camp.

This quest is so stupid it made me laugh. However I did get upset when I realized we were just going in a circle.

Just did this while working on Loremaster. It is still bugged to where he will attack an invisible mob.

Tried it once before taking Soggoth out and had the same issue as everyone else. Got lucky the second time (after Soggoth). I watched someone bring him back into the camp. When I took him on the round, none of the mobs had a chance to respawn, just walked around in the circle...lol

I tried to do this quest earlier today, to no avail. I tried healing him for a bit hoping he could tackle the invisible foe solo, and I just gave up and abandoned the quest. The kicker is, I went afk for some time, and came back probably an hour later.. only to find Remtravel in the spot where I left him, stuck at 172/417hp STILL attacking the mob! I've put in a ticket about it, but who knows how long that will take to get through to someone. Here's hoping it doesn't interfere with the Darkshore Quests cheevo!

To avoid the confusion of invisible mobs, make sure you are on the quest The Battle for Darkshore (allowing you to see the Spawns of Soggoth) before starting this escort quest.

so.. this quest failed - i didnt even know what was happening when i got the failed message... i abandoned the quest but now the quest giver is not reappearing. what do i have to do to reset this quest? do i have to wait a certain period of time?

I was annoyed about how i had to start the quest over when he attacked invisible monsters and died, and a did a face palm when the quest finished and i saw that we walked in a huge circle, literally!

Very poor design to have Prospector Remtravel attack mobs that you don't have access to yet.. This quest should not be available until you can see the Spawns of Soggoth, or else have him not attack them.. I was having a blast with the redesigned Darkshore until this quest brought my mood down a few pegs

I would classify this quest as broken since I was unable to do it as I had not done the unknown prerequisite, the battle for darkshore . :(

I abandoned the quest when remtravel aggro'd to an invisible monster. Ran a dungeon, came back to him and he was STILL there attacking. Came here to wowhead, found the answer, went and did the quest chain, killed the monster he was fighting, remtravel despawned and now he has not returned. :(

After about 30 minutes or so, remtravel respawned, I did the quest and it is now complete. I also got the achievement for darkshore quests, as this was my last quest to do as far as i know.

The other ruins he makes several comments about over the course of the escort are the same ruins he's now circling, just before the cataclysm caused them to flood. This poor, absent-minded dwarf.
