I would judge, based on the name, that this drops from Al'ar in The Eye, or perhaps from Kael'thas.

Its a good for any melee DPS class that can use a fist.

Maybe a tad too fast for an offhand for a warrior...they'd probably prefer something 1.8-2.2.

But generally its good for a rogue, warrior or enhance shammy.

Saw this today in WSG since dentarg is in my battlegroup. Lovely looking thing, definitely looks good on a blood elf especially.

what would be better fury and rage from ZA including socket bouneses and sockets or talon and claw from TK off of a'lar? this would be for a fury war.

Shaman wielding this makes me a sad panda... if they were the extreme, 1.3 speed... perhaps put Flametounge on... but 1.5 is bleh. It's a shame the MH is one of the best items available to us, yet the nice matching OH is a quick one.

I really wish they'd add an "on use" function to offhands like this on a 24 hour cooldown, to swap them from a quick speed, to a slow speed.

Another great looking Fist with a MH look alike, and still Blizz didnt add a set bonus.

WTB more weapon set bonuses that transform the player, like the level 60 Fists from ZG.

Along with many other fist weapons in the game, such as Fist of Deity, the sister-weapon to this Talon of the Pheonix will become one-hand in MoP, and will finally be usable in either hand (and transmog to either hand). But not this one :(

This is very exciting, especially for those of us who don't have enough luck for both to drop, this one and the matching mainhand Talon of the Pheonix.

As of 5.1, many off-hand fist weapons have changed to one-handed, meaning some previously unusable for transmog items have become usable! Very exciting, considering many of these off-hands were slightly different in color to the "matching" mainhands.

guys.... quests in netherstorm tells you that Kael'thas has been cooperating with the burning legion due to the inssanity of Illidan. and since the prince is an eredar and working for the burning legion it isn't such a big mystery imo.

from the merchant sell price, one would assume that it is a gladiator weapon, but based upon solely the name i would concur that it would be from either Kael'thas or Alar. who knows what 2.1 will bring? O.o

'Of The Phoenix' suggests it drops from Alar, perhaps Kael'thas. Illidan has no phoenix references.

They drop off of Al'ar, the first boss in the 25 man Tempest Keep raid instance. No attunement is necessary at this time. Although most guilds skip him and kill Void Reaver first since he's less complicated to learn and execute.

There is a main-hand with similar stats. They are awesome fist weapons and look cooler than any others hands-down.

well im a 70 hunter, i would like to reply to the statment made about "any decent hunter has 2000+ AP". that is true for MM but i beleive that that is being unfair to the BM hunters out there. im BM, i dominate the damage meter AND pvp, yet i only have like 1.7k unbuffed. id also like to throw in a switched from MM (i had 2.1k unbuffed) this is a pretty good fist wep but i think that the merceless gladiator OH wep would be a better fit. imo hunters should stick to 2h, there is a nice polerarm off Murmur, a 2h sword from heroic BM and a 2h axe from heroic Mana Tombs, and the reason i say this is because hunters main damage comes from there range attacks, and the only time melee weps are used is to raptor strike or wing clip and enimy that is too close for ranged attacks, but this is just my personal preference =P

the regular gladiator fist weapon is better than the new tier 2 one for combat rogues, bottom line is 1.8 is just too much of a loss when your going for OH procs for energy. now this OH keeps the same speed, better stats, and more on weap dps... do the math.

Shaman's want a 2.60 speed main hand and offhand . A 2.60 speed green will out perform this for an enhancement shaman. Stop posting. You clearly don't know anything. You're the Rogue in full greens trying to do Shadow Labs or the ignorant Rogue who's hated on his server. Guilds don't hand out loot like that. That's like saying "Why give hunter's their t5 tokens because Mages and Warlocks are out dpsing them." It's also like saying "Why should Shaman get t5 token because the paladin is healing better."

this is a class weapon but the pheonex god is well hard 2 kill so if u want it u need like 6 lvl 70s

I'm a Enh Shammy.

First of all this board is about the weapons. Take your lame class flaming wars to an aol 2.0 chat room and keep that crap off the boards.

2nd, these would be a severely poor choicce for an enhancement shammy. About 40% if our dps is based entirely from Windfury. That said, fast weapons tend to severely cripple WF due to the time limit on the proc.

And because the sister weapon to this, the main hand version, is so slow, you'll be getting more crappy WF procs from the off hand.

And you'd be *!@#$%ed to only have one of these. Not because of any hard set rule, but because you'd look like a damn fool with one glowing hand. Like ET or something.

Lets be mature about this.

Im not interested in the offhand of these two.. if it dropped and nobody wanted i'd probably take it just cuz it would look cool but i'd by no means want to spend DKP on it.

The mainhand is a completely different story, i get all the benefits of fist weapon spec by having the main hand as well as it being awesome (dmg range) + looking freaking awesome.

Other than that, the more you @#$%^ and moan about your own losses to other classes getting "your" gear the less likely you are to actually get into a raid to get "your" gear.

This wouldn't be bad for any physical dps class. I mean put exe/mongoose for meleers and 20/20agi for hunters or even make people's head explode and put battlemaster on both.

Heal spec rogue/war ftw! I would say shammy but they got a heal button already. ^^

ps: and for the next comment "This guy's a noob" Make sure you know what you're talking about before you post and save yourself the effort of wiping the egg off your face. =D

Way too fast for a shaman offhand. Grab the Talon of the Phoenix and a Netherbane, or two Netherbanes (all off Al'ar as well). 1.5 speed will cripple your Windfury damage hard.
