i'd have to say that this is excellently well written Brro... Kudos! One thing I would add if I were you would be the glyphs. (At least evocation.. GOD i wish they had that when i was levelling)
Another thing.. I suppose it's all personal preference, but I actually like having arctic reach before picking up icy veins, possibly even before picking up shatter. Yes that extra crit damage can be crucial, but it won't equal out to those two extra frostbolts you can throw in that 6 extra yard reach.. 6 yards equals out to a lot when someone's running at 40% speed... and also.. no shattered barrier? man.. that's another thing i wish i had when i was levelling.. that talent is a godsend, and it's our greatest panic button, whether AoE grinding or not... i don't think it's something that should be overlooked, personally.
Just a couple nitpicks.. But like i said, very well written.. and honestly.. i'm quite surprised that we DON'T have a basic levelling guide.. hadn't much thought about it really. Well done. I will vote for sticky.

Seems to be very good, would have made it a lot easier for me to level... lol. I'd also like to add to this a little, I noticed I kill single targets much faster as fire. And - at 50 - Fire AoE grinding seems MUCH easier then frost, less downtime, and less damage taken imo. So fire is very good for leveling also. Unless youre one for AoE grinding all the way. Then go frost 'till 50 then fire.
Guess I better include a Fire aoe grinding guide, of sorts. Gotta be 50 for this tp be easy. Start out by pulling (obviously) then get them together, frost nova, back up a little and flamestrike them(ONLY a little, because the flamestrike will ot break some frost Nova'd targets and this will mess you up since you need to be close for dragon's breath), dragons breath them ALL or this will mess you up (this will disorient them), flame strike, Cone of cold, blast wave and arcane explosion to finish any off.
Edit: went into a little moar detail :P
see... that doesn't sound like a very simple method of aoe grinding for me... Part of the great parts of frost aoe grinding is the fact that you won't take ANY damage while rounding them up, due to
ice barrier
. (extremely useful for keeping you from getting dazed when struck from behind and dismounted... cause it WILL happen). and also... You only need to do one move.. Blizzard, empowered by rank or or two of
Improved Blizzard
. That's all you need to do. They'll move towards you after the nova breaks, sure, but they're moving at 40% speed which resets every time they're hit by a blizzard tick.. Also, with your ice barrier up, you can continue channeling blizzard while they're right on top of you and, if for some reason they break it before you die... they're frozen AGAIN due to
Shattered Barrier
. back up a bit more, refresh your ice barrier, and blizz them again..
However, different strokes for different folks... or something of that nature. I still feel that frost has a much easier time with aoe grinding.

@achloryn: I've always had problems with Shattered Barrier popping when I least wanted it. And nowadays, farming Fire Elementals near Bor'gorok Outpost, there's so much competition, that I have to take a much more aggressive stance.
Ice Barrier, run around and Ice Lance all my targets (tapping them, before rivals get them). I also have to use Mage Armor to improve my uptime, so I get no slowing effects at all until I actually Nova. Having the elementals beating on me while I gather up one or two more tends to break my Ice Barrier early.
Having them Nova'd while another Elemental is ^&*!ed off by my Ice Lance behind me is ... inconvenient :)
Okay.. there's a fair point there.. But as this is a levelling guide, i think shattered barrier is a serious life saving tool. Farming for eternal fires is indeed.... competetive, to say the least, but that in general would belong in a different guide.. Just my 2c.

There is that.
I'm certainly willing to modify what I've written further. But at the moment we've got my experience vs yours :)
I'm sure you've seen the edits I've made already. Is that a fair treatment of the subject? Or do you feel that SB should be the rule, and not the exception? Other mages weighing in here would help too.
I think, as a leveling guide, the "rules" should be shown in the linked specs, and the exceptions discussed. I'd rather not post competing specs, to avoid confusion.
actually, i HADN'T looked at the edits you had done yet.. I think the way you worded it works perfectly well. :)
also, i hope you didn't think I was berating you for what you were saying about SB earlier, and I can definitely understand what you mean about the discussion and not wanting to have seperate specs.. That's part of the great part of levelling.. there's no one specific way you have to do things.

Finally, on your macro. You should also edit your post to note that only one '/use' trinket (for buff effects) can be used at a time. Using one triggers a 20 second CD on trinkets. Which, coincidentally (I'm sure) is generally how long a trinket buff effect lasts.
Having both '/use' statements in your macro isn't wrong, technically, but readers should be aware that the second trinket won't be used when you activate the macro.
i didn't realize they changed that.. i know you USED to be able to have both trinkets popped at once, but really... i hadn't tried since wrath first came out (which was probably the last time i had two trinks with a use effect. lol)
